New Jersey week on the Magic?

I have a question.... we are booked on the October 22nd Western for 2005 and we were toying with the idea of moving it to November 5th 2005 since that's my husband's birthday and I would avoid Disney during Halloween crowds. I see that the convention is Thursday November 10th and 11th. Would that mean that the schools have off Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday too? Would that affect the Magic as well as the Wonder? Hey, no disrespect to NJ, I was born there and I am a very short distance from the bridge in PA... I just hate crowds. Thanks for your opinions.

Some schools do have the entire week off, some just Election day, mine for example has the two days off and then three half days for conferences. If I was going to cruise next year, that is the cruise I'd take to limit the number of days off my DD will miss. We will be going away that week next year, just not to WDW or on DCL. I'd expect a pretty large NJ contingent that week on the cruise. Also a note, DCL usually sails full, regardless of time of year, so the October 22nd cruise will most likely be as crowded as the Nov 5th sailing, just probably not as many NJ cruisers on the October 22nd sailing vs the Nov 5th sailing!!!!

Edited to add: WDW will probably be just as crowded, regardless of week. My DSis is in WDW now and she says it's almost as crowded as the summers. The Food and Wine Festival is in full swing during that time period, and it does draw huge crowds.

Our cruise this year NJWeek is acually not sold out. So it may not be that bad Just full of NJ people. We like it that way then there is the opportuniy to see them again.
I agree with Jel though it won't make much of a difference on how crowded or not the ship is.
Our schools only have off the whole week when it is a presidential election but neighboring schools have the entire week every year.

Lakewood here. About 5 minutes from T. River. Our next cruise is Oct. 14, 2006. We have a while to go.

Also from NJ and cruising on the Oct. 30th Eastern. Last year we started getting the entire NJ week off. The kids are missing school on Fri. 29th and the Monday after the cruise. Had to add on a few days at WDW.
To all that will be there, See Ya real soon!

Our children only get Thursday and Friday off (Nov. 4 & Nov. 5). School is in session on election day. The following week is all half days. Still not a bad deal to miss three days for what amounts to a nine day vacation!

Check out our countdown clock and you'll see we are anxiously awaiting next Friday when school gets out!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :thewave:

Hey fellow N people. Also Washing Twp Gloucester county with mhb and sweetspot. Can't wait for our first cruise. Always travel to Disney for convention week. The weather is great and the kids don't miss much school. Only one day this year. Can't wait to meet all who will be on the Magic.
