Anyone know of a clean, inexpensive place to stay near the Six Flags in New Jersey? Also, how much time should I set aside for the safari? My kids are more excited about that than the park. Thanks!

The safari takes us about an hour & a half on average. You can take longer or a shorter amount of time. Make sure your little ones have emptied their bladders before going in. Don't feed the animals & don't open your windows! Make sure the air conditioning in your car works well. We usually take a picnic lunch to the park & eat in the car while we drive through. Our favorites are the elephants & the giraffes.

I really don't have advice about a hotel as we live 10 minutes away & have never needed a hotel. I would look around the Freehold area. (route 9 is busy & loud) It is only about 20 minutes from Six Flags & there is a Mall & horse track right there.

Momejay is pretty much right when she suggests to check the Freehold area. There is literally nothing near Six Flags itself (except the Jackson Outlets). It's a pretty rural area for NJ.
