New interactive Magic Bands

Magic Band+ was just announced. These will be interactive bands that show haptics and color changes and can interact with the 50th Anniversary statues.

There will be a variety of bands available for purchase. I'd bet on $50 for the 50th, but that's just a guess.

OMG....yes!!! I got rid of Facebook for exactly that reason. I kept Twitter and now only follow Disney stuff, sports, and comedians.

Taylor Swift's last tour (look, I have a 15 year old daughter) featured haptic bracelets handed out to every fan. It created a very, very cool lighting show throughout the crowd. This could be really neat at night if enough guests participate.

Just curious what the starting price point will be... I mean it has a + on the end of it, that makes it at least like 20-30 dollars more than a regular MB.

these supposedly won't be released until sometime next year. I'm sure at a higher price than current ones.

After you enter a theme park, MagicBand+ will come alive at various times with color-changing lights, haptic vibrations and gesture recognition. The wearable will allow you to engage with favorite Disney moments in new ways, including:

• Play like a bounty hunter in a galaxy far, far away and find virtual bounties throughout Black Spire Outpost in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
• Interact with the “Disney Fab 50 Character Collection,” the golden sculptures spread throughout the Walt Disney World theme parks.
• Experience nighttime spectaculars in a new way as you see your band light up and complement the magic in the skies, including the new “Harmonious” at EPCOT and “Disney Enchantment” at Magic Kingdom Park.

It will be interesting to see what these interactions really are. Could be fun.
