new information when spliting reservation

When I finally got the courage to send the email asking them to split my reservation, I got a message the following day that I need to call and ask them to split and link when ready to add the DP
Now I'm having doubts about it again and I may just do the TIW as I already got our AP's.

Not sure if you had a question or not but we just did a split reservation in May and it was no problem. Only annoying part was having to go back to the front desk to "check-in" again.

I was just letting people know that we can't no longer ask over an email but it"s good to know that it was good for you!
I'm still s little afraid but I have to do it because my daughter from TX will only stay with us for part of our vacation and I don't want to have to pay for her DP for the whole 10 days, so I will have to split the reservation.

Yep I was told the same thing when I emailed them the beginning of may for our may 14th trip. I called on may 10 segmented the reservation and paid for the dining plan....we stayed at BLT and had no issues at all

So you can split a existing reservation? Does there need to be inventory for them to split it? We have a THV over Christmas and would love to be able to use the DDP for Christmas Eve and Christmas day since the TIW card blacked out. I just don't want to use the DDP for our entire stay.

I was thinking of doing the exact same thing over Christmas Eve and Christmas day with the DP. And using TIW the rest of the trip.

I called today and first I added the Dx plan to our first night as we are staying in 2 value studios and then moving to the 2 bedroom value the following day. I then asked for the 2 bedroom to be close to the bus stop and for a specific room number and she took it.
I then explained to her that I needed to split my reservation to add the DP later on. She went over on how I wanted it split and what type of DP I was going to add and when I did not want the DP. She then asked me to wait for her supervisor to take care of it, she told me the supervisors do the actual work. I waited for about 15 minutes and she told me it was ready and I just needed to call back before 48 hours to pay for it.
Now I just need to pray that everything will work out. We are leaving in 3 weeks. I will post how things go for us!

Sooo excited! I called this morning and was able to split my reservation and add the Deluxe DDP for the last 2 nights of our stay. So now we are covered with the dining plan for Christmas eve and Christmas day which are black out days for the TIW. So thank you everyone for letting us know that it can be done with no problems!!!
