MITCH RYDER HEADLINES 30TH PARTY
On-line registration is now open for the 30th running of the Crim Festival of Races. August 26th is the date of this years Crim, the areas premier summer event featuring the flagship world class
10 mile road race as well as 8K, 5K 1 mile and childrens races.
This years race day will cap a week of special 30th anniversary events to welcome back every participant in any Crim event and honor the Flint community. Motown legends Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels will headline the traditional post-race flat lot party.
Begun in 1977 by State Speaker of the House Bobby Crim and Race Director Lois Craig, the Crim has grown to become one of the most respected sporting events in the country.
According to Race Director Deb Kiertzner, the Crims thirtieth anniversary observance will celebrate the sprit of the Flint community:
The Crim race really belongs to the people of this community. The residents of the Flint area have supported the race since day one, and they are the reason this event has continued to grow and bring premier athletes from around the world to stand on our start line on Saginaw Street year after year. What better connection to the soundtrack of those thirty years as well as Flints auto heritage than Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels?
On-line registration is available at www.crim.org. All early registrants will receive a commemorative, personalized bib, until July 1st. Other special anniversary packages and events are planned, and updates will be available on the Crim website at www.crim.org
AC Delco is presenting sponsor of the Crim 10 mile race.
