New info on "Million Dreams" Promo

I read this in the article "As part of the Year of a Million Dreams, beginning October 1, Disneyland will be receiving three new interactive shows—all currently playing at Walt Disney World. The Tomorrowland Terrace will play host to the Jedi Training Academy, the Fantasyland Theatre will receive the Princess Fantasy Faire, and Disney's California Adventure's parade corridor is getting the High School Musical Pep Rally."

Which three shows are they refering to? We have none of those to my knowledge here in Florida.

Jedi Training Academy was during Star Wars weekends at MGM, right? Don't know about the other two...

Thanks for sharing!!!! thats really interesting. I think that the CM's shouldnt be dressed any different. Because if people know what the CM's in the Blue and white mean then they will follow them around etc. I think if you recieve a dream it should be more of a suprise. i dont know....maybe thats just me.

maybe were missing something here....i read it the same way you did and was asking myself...i didn't hear of these. and i thought i heard of everything in spending hours on the boards. maybe they got it backwards? but even i would have imagined that by now i would know that they are on their way...who knows...anyone?

I know those shows, Princess Faire and High School Musical, have been in casting mode recently for WDW. I don't think they are set to make their actual debut until later in the fall.

I don't know if this has been asked anywhere....or if the info is out there....but, do they plan on having most new shows and attractions for the year of a million dreams open the first week of Oct. when it begins, or will it be a process that continues throughout the year?

Just curious...we will be there the first week of the Millions Dreams celebrations...wondering what to expect :goodvibes

I kind of agree with the underwhelming bit. From the beginning, I felt that it would never be able to trump the Happiest Celebration on Earth. That was described as the biggest Disney celebration ever, and this doesn't get nearly as much publicity as the HCOE did. It soesn't seem like as big a celebration. But then again, if you have just had the biggest celebration ever, it might not make sense to do an even bigger one immeadiately afterward.
I think it would be nice to see that Year of a Million Dreams commercial that popped up on the boards a while ago. I haven't seen it since anywhere, but thought it was one of the best, if not THE BEST, commercials I had ever seen. It really made you want to get up and go to Disney right now. But like I said, I haven't seen this anywhere.

And finally, what are they thinking destroying all the surplus HCOE merchandise!!!!! I would be very happy indeed to recieve a momento from the HCOE as one of the million dreams. It would be a great way to fill up that huge number without making people feel like they got a crummy prize. These would be terrific prizes.

"And, as successful as the Golden Anniversary promotion has been, Merchandise cast members report that there is such a large surplus of unsold 50th trinkets, that the majority of it will be destroyed once pulled from the shelves. Wait! Call the Dream Squad! Those excess golden ears must be somebody's idea of a "once-in-a-lifetime experience"!"

Actually, I was just wondering about this... If I'm in MK on 9/30, will I be able to buy gold Mickey ears? I have a friend that really wants some, and couldn't get them from Disney any other way. Since the 50th anniversary technically ends my first day there, I'm hoping I can get them for her!

I dunno about the 'underwhelming' part. I kinda like the idea of getting a free coke or an unexpected fastpass or something like that - I have simple dreams, lol!!!

My DD is psyched about the HSM pep rally...she will probably be dissappointed when she realizes that it's not the original cast! Bu tshe'll still like it.

I'm sure with every new promo Disney puts out, there will be naysayers. I've learned not to take it to heart too much. There were people who complained about the golden castle decor before it went up, too.
This one may not be as spectacular, but that's okay with me. I liked Disney when they didn't have a spectacular every year too. I sort of like to see new things at WDW, but sometimes the plain old WDw is almost better (case in point, The Epcot wand)

Has anyone heard anything more about any other special things they'll be doing for YoMD? We are heading down Oct 7. When I spoke to the CM making the reservations a few weeks ago, she said they hadn't even heard the details yet. Maybe they have now? Other than trolling-prize-givers at MK, are they doing anything else special we should plan to go see/do? Has anyone spoken to a CM recently to ask?

Count me in on receiving a special prize left over from the anniversary. It would be great to receive something more substantial than stickers. It would also remind me of Disney everytime I looked at the item. Think about the PR Disney!
