New info on Member Website

I was on the Member website earlier today and didn't see this pop up but it is there when you log in now. Is this new info or am I just slow finding things out?????

Here is what it says:

A magical makeover for dvcmember.com

In early May, we're debuting an all-new Member web site, featuring a fresh design, improved navigation, and exclusive content just for Members. The new dvcmember.com also incorporates enhanced site security to maintain exclusivity for Members and to protect current and future information that may be available.

For this reason, each individual Member on a contract will be issued a separate and unique Vacation Club ID number and PIN. These numbers are required to register for access to the site when it launches.

At the end of April, each Member in your household will receive two separate notices containing these numbers via postal mail. Please note - be careful not to discard what appear to be duplicate mailings! While the mailings will look the same, each envelope contains important, unique information required to log on to the new web site.

Maybe we will get Account Access. Their ears must of have been burning because the site was being talked about pretty bad!

Last week when I logged in they asked if I would participate in an online survey about the site. I believe a number of us participated from an earlier post on the topic.

That is pretty fast if they can go from seeking input for design changes to a roll out in less than two months. I wonder if the roll our will be phased because I doubt they could design, test and go live with account management and online reservations that quickly.

Maybe some of our technology/internet/web site savvy members could comment.

<font face="times" size="+0">while this news is certainly good (at least DVC is finally looking into improving the website), i would be willing to bet that exclusive or personalized content is just going to be something similar to what the WDW website is like now.
on the WDW website, you can track "favorite resorts" and have a special personalized page that shows links to your favorite pages so you have faster navigation.

it's possible the separate login IDs are the initial setup for DVC to eventually make our account info available online, but i agree with JimC that it is extremely difficult to redesign, test, and go live with the type of enhancements that we all are wanting.

DVC's IT systems seem to be very behind the times, and i just don't think it's possible to upgrade that fast.

of course, we can all hope that maybe secretly, DVC has been working on this system for years, and they're planning to surprise all of us in May. </font>
