Just got off phone with my guide, I am buying BLT, he said I could either have $6 off per point or a free 3 day Disney Cruise in 2011 for my family of 4 on the Dream. That was the announcement for today for BLT at least, I don't know about the others.

We are adding on at SSR (100 points). Our guide told us we could either get $12 off per point or a 2011 cruise.

Well, depending on dates, a 3 nighter on the Dream for a family of 4 costs about $2,000 for an inside stateroom. So, the cruise is the better deal, unless you are planning on buying more than 330 points. Still, I'm sure that Disney is only going to be offering non-peak sailing dates, so families with children are going to have to make the tough choice of whether its worth it to pull their kiddos out of school for a cruise.

Well, that answers that. We have been holding our contract for BLT for the new incentive to come out. We saved $1 per point extra, but $160 is $160!

But we would end up spending another $800-900 on plane tickets, hotel for a night before cruise, etc. We didn't plan on doing Disney at all in 2011 and banking our points. So for us we would just spend money and points we wouldn't have used otherwise.

I know that AKV had a minimum buy-in of 100. Is that the case for BLT also?

Wow - I thought they have had fantastic incentives for VGC the past few months??? How can it be a stepchild?

The cruise incentives are for BLT/AKV/SSR/VGC purchases from my understanding. Each resort has their own $$$'s incentive off in lieu of the cruise.

Are you aware that SSR resale prices are in the $60 dollar range? I am sure this is far less than whwt Disney is charging you. Something to maybe look into.

So what are we looking at here.

New member minimum 160 points (100 AKV)
option of 3 day cruise or discount per point

Add-on of 100 points
option of 3 day cruise or discount per point

Add-on of 125 points
option of 4 day cruise or discount per point

Add-on of 200+ points
option of 7 day cruise or discount per point

Discounts are:
$6 for BLT
$12 for SSR
$?? for AKV
$?? for VGC

We're purchasing 250 pts (AKV). Our guide just emailed today, that we can get $15 off per point or 4 day cruise or if we go up to 270 pts, we can get the 7 day cruise. We can only pick one incentive. It seems that some are being offered the 7 day cruise with less points being purchased, but it seems like that offer is for BLT (from what's been posted here)

I've been up, since 3:30 am, so I haven't had a chance to figure out which is the better deal (money off or cruise for a family of 3).
