New Incentives

Yes...I am a current member with 150 pts at Saratoga. My real question is does the Disney incentive of 2 free AP's apply for 50 point add-ons?

Based on the incentives chart from DVCNews.com, I can get Saratoga for $99 per point on a 50 pt contract since the $13 incentive kicks in at 50 pts. ($112 - $13)

Thanks,

Wow, there is so much information on this thread I think my head is swimming!!!!

Let me apologize right up front for my question. I am sure it was answered somewhere on this thread but like I said, I have maybe a bad case of information overload so be kind....:lmao:

On 3/31 I spoke with my guide and agreed to add on 60 points at VGC. She told me if I wanted to wait 1 more day and bought 100 points, I would get $6.00 off per point. I thanked her but said I only wanted/needed 60 points.

BUT, now if I read things correctly with my 60 point add on I should still get something off per point, right? I have a call into my newly assigned guide but she is on vacation right now (hopefully having a wonderful time!) and I want to have my facts straight in my head before she calls me back.

Thank you ahead of time for your help and kindness :flower3: (I hope!).

I'm not an expert or a longtime member...but, based on what I'm reading about the current incentives....you should be able to get a 60 point add-on at VGC for $112 base price less $8 promotional discount....so $104 per point.

If you were to go up to 100 points...you would get an additional $6 off per point...so, that would be $112 base...less $8 promotional...less another $6 extra discount...which would be $98 per point.

So...you should be 60 pts x $104 per point...for $6,240. If you purchased 100 pts...you would be 100pts x $98 per point....for $9,800.

Quick question.

I'm a bit new to the whole DVC thing, we purchased 200 pts at the BLT and signed our paperwork on March 6th, the day we were flying home.

It's now April 6th, so we've obviously closed by now. Would we somehow retroactively qualify for the new incentives? I tried calling my guide on April the 1st, but he still hasn't gotten back to me?

What to do?

I would contact the main DVC member and tell them that you want to check to see if you have closed and that your guide hasn't got back to you because if you haven't, you want to postpone it.

I did just that. I had signed and sent my papers back in the middle of March, but had not yet closed on April 1st. So, I was able to stop the contract and get the new incentives.

My guide did tell me that if I had already made it to closing, I would be out of luck. If the new incentives interest you, I would contact them today.

Good luck!

It certainly doesn't hurt to ask but, frankly, I would find it unacceptable that your Guide hasn't already gotten back to you. I think that DVC sets a tentative closing date a month after you sign the paperwork so you definitely need to get in touch with someone ASAP to pull your paperwork if it hasn't closed. Try and call the MS Compliance Office and ask the question. MS Compliance will call you back by the end of the day and they are the ones that your Guide would call anyway. GOOD LUCK!!!

Hi All,

Does anyone have any insight into when the current incentives will end. I am close to pulling the trigger but am not sure if I should wait to see if the next set of incentives are better (for my needs) than the one currently being offered.

Any advice?

Thanks,

There has been no word on that ...yet ! :goodvibes

Hi I am new posting on the Dis Board, but have read it for a while. My husband and I bought into VGC during the presentation they had at Paradise Pier. We bought more points than we were expecting so we could get the better incentives. Now we are going to sell some our BWV points. We are getting the discount on the points, 2 annual passes to Disney World, 2-1 week stays at RCI properties, a night stay in the Pirate Suite in the Disneyland Hotel and then we got to choose between an ABD trip or a stay at the Grand Wailea in Maui. We were pretty happy with all of that.

Wow great incentives. How many points did you buy?

Do you live near Disneyland?? Those are great incentives. How many points did you buy??

We live about an hour and 15 minutes from Disneyland. We already have passes to DL and that is why we opted for the passes to DW. We bought 500 points. That is why we will be selling some of our BWV points, we don't need as many as we have now. Selling them will also help pay for what we just bought. Having the 11 month window at VGC is important to us.

Just added on 350 points in three contracts (125, 125, and 100) at BLT!! :cool1:

The incentives and the quick closing DVC can do made up our minds. Since I don't have to pay MFs until Sept when my UY starts, and then the free closing fees, and then the incentives, we had to do it!!!. We figured this was the time.

We would never have purchased under the old incentives to get a cruise. We are so over the Disney Cruise thing. We have been on it many, many, times. Of course, when our little 9 month old grandson gets older we'll rethink the cruise again :goodvibes For him, my darling little boy, I could do anything!!

Woo-Hoo - congratulations, neighbor!!! :woohoo:

Congrats! The new incentives caused me to add-on at VGC.

We just did an additional add on because of the incentives. We started out at 200 points so we could get our names on the tile. Then came the incentive with a cruise. So we added on 160 points. My DH has wanted to do a cruise for so long so I figured this was my sign to do an add on and take a cruise. Then to see the incentive with the credit on the points we couldn't help ourselves. So we did an add on of 125.

I'm pretty much guessing that the Disney Visa (2 Free APs) deal is good for add-ons of 100 points or more. I've seen the question asked a few times and no answer has been given yet. I don't really have a guide as I initially purchased via resale recently.

Does anyone know if the Free APs deal is available on 50 point add-ons?

It just seems like too good of a deal on a 50 point add-on.

I'm looking at adding on another 50 points at SSR. I've seen some 50 point resale contracts in the $75 per point range....so, here's my math:

Resale
$75 per point x 50 pts = $3750
Add $350 for closing costs / overnighting paperwork, etc.
Purchase 2 AP's for about $800 after discount for 2009

Resale Total = $4900

Disney
$112 per point less $13 per point discount = $99 per pt x 50 pts = $4950
No Closing Costs
2 Free APs

Disney Total = $4950

Since the two are so close together, I'm figuring that they are not offering the free APs for 50 point add-ons....can anyone confirm?

Thanks,
Speed :teleport:

Correct, the min add-on for the Visa AP's is 100 points (I talked to my guide this afternoon) and you need the 15% downpayment..
