Just saw it. It was really funny! More so than I expected.

You betcha!! :lmao:

Good to hear. I was thinking about sneaking out to watch it (leave DH at home to watch the kiddos!) but I get to see movies in the theater so seldom that I am very picky on the ones I do go watch. I don't usually go for the romantic comedy genre but something about the previews for this movie caught my attention. :goodvibes

When they started advertising it as Bridget Jones meets Sweet Home Alabama, I was worried! We may have to go next week!

It was a major news story here, since it was set here but not actually filmed here. Most of the coverage was about whether the movie was 'stereotyping' Minnesotans. My opinion? It didn't help that New Ulm (the town the movie was set in) decided to host a "Red Carpet Pot Luck Dinner" for the movie's premire...:sad2:

Uff-da!

:lmao:

I grew up in MN. Not to far from New Ulm, in fact. It did have some "sterotypes", but what movie these days doesn't. One major "fau pax" is someone invited the new lady over for DINNER (at night). Growing up, DINNER was at high noon, SUPPER was at night! (only a "local" would pick up on this.;) )

Still, it was a cute, fun movie.
