New In and Out opening up

That’s definitely closer. Unfortunately still not even close to walking distance. 😟

I agree. From the Grand to the new the In N Out it's close to 4 miles. Great for people driving that way to get stop by for a burger, but not for anyone on Harbor or the on-site as a 'quick place to get a bite'. It'd also be nice for someone non-local who's never had 'the In N Out experience' lol.

I think an In N Out at DTD would be fabulous and get a LOT of customers. It couldn't be a drive thru though and I don't know if Disney really wants that much competition in the burger department. A Double Double, fries, & med drink combo is $10.99, definitely worth the walk to DTD! Smokejumpers double cheeseburger & fries combo is $15.49, drink extra at $4.59. That's practically double the price.

When DCA first opened, there was a McDonalds inside. The prices were more expensive McDonalds on the outside. It didn't survive. https://www.yesterland.com/burgerinvasion.html

I remember that so well! As a newly diagnosed Celiac the fact that their fries were GF was so wonderful. TBH I think I had fries for more than one meal on that trip. My son still laughs about the fact that every time we talked about where to eat I piped up with 'The Fry Wagon' lol. I don't remember exactly where, probably either Cafe Orleans or French Market, but I 'smuggled in' a couple orders of fries to eat whilst DH and DS ate off the menu there.

In-N-Out, huh? They really wanna cash in on the Disneyland crowds, do they.

To be honest, In-N-Out isn't my pick for a burger in the area. I tried both In-N-Out and Jack in the Box, and I definitely prefer Jack in the Box over that stuff.
In-N-Out doesn’t need the Disneyland crowds. I’ve lived in a few parts of CA and every In-N-Out I’ve ever been to is consistently busy, no matter where it is.

When we were local APs, we’d have loved this. We often stopped for food on the way to the parks on a Friday night. This location definitely benefits locals going to Disney a lot more than visitors staying in hotels within walking distance.

In-N-Out is massively overrated, frankly it's no better than BK, Wendy's Carls Jr. When it comes to a local chain I will take Habit Burger over them any day.

As a Canadian that loves trying different places I hit up In and Out my last trip down and it was my favourite burger place I've tried in the states for fast food. I'm excited they opened one closer to Disney.

The State College location opened up a decade ago, and the Block At Orange location opened up last fall. The Brookhurst location in Anaheim has been around forever and isn’t much further but is pretty dumpy.

The Harbor location is owned by a franchisee. McD’s tried unsuccessfully to get the rights back so they open a location at DTD, but they were unsuccessful.

McD’s had a context with Disney. They sold various food items at one location in each WDW/DLR park, plus they had a full restaurant at DTD WDW and a standalone restaurant near the All Star Resorts. When the contract ended, the locations inside each park immediately closed. The DTD location closed a few years later.

The AS location is still there. It’s owned by McD’s, is their largest restaurant in the world and sells non-McD’s items. I’ve never been there - prices are high, they don’t participate in promos … but there is a franchisee who does just 5 minutes up the road. Guess some people want the Bubble bad enough.

INO is high quality. JITB is about the lowest of low. A large portion of JITB’s menu is microwaved (eg. Breakfast is all day). Less busy locations will grill burgers, refrigerate them and then microwave them when ordered

Gross.

I always tell folks I wasn’t really impressed with In-N-Out until I leaned about the “double-double animal style”. That is a burger.
It really is amazing! But I even love a classic In N Out cheeseburger too. It's just fresh tasting, which you don't really get with most fast food.

Oh, and I know the fries don't get much love since they aren't the typical fast food fry. One tip is to ask for them "well done." That equals one extra go in the fryer so they are super crispy. And if that doesn't help, you can go with fries "animal style" (for those who don't know the lingo, it means it's topped with cheese, grilled onions, and their signature spread). Mmm now I'm hungry for In N Out at 6am 😂

Ha ha “cash in on Disney crowds”. What a ridiculous statement. They are incredibly busy all the time. It’s not a Disney thing at all

It's fresh tasting because it is fresh, which you don't really get with most fast food because that isn't.

I don't eat burgers much and have only been to In-N-Out a handful of times, but I do know that they don't freeze their hamburger patties between their consolidated facilities and their restaurants. And you can see them making the french fries from fresh potatoes. And cutting up tomatoes.
