New Hub Seating Question

Hello all!

The new castle hub area is new since I was last at the World. From what I understand, you are able to sit down to watch Celebrate the Magic and Wishes.
What I am wondering is how early you have to get there to be able to sit? Are there any areas that have an obstructed view? Also, can you see Main Street Electrical Parade from the hub?

Thanks y'all :lovestruc

The Wishes viewing area is for FP only. You can sit while you wait (which is nice) but they usually come by and tell everyone to stand before Celebrate the Magic starts. The area does not provide a good view of MSEP unless you only want to see the top of the floats.

Thanks for asking, OP.

So if we have FPs for Wishes, does that mean we will definitely be able to sit while we wait for Wishes, or do we have to get there very early to get a place to sit?

We arrived about 45 minutes before the fireworks and it was fairly empty.

I can't say enough good things about it! We loved it. My grandson could run around and have fun rather than being pinned in his stroller in a crowd. My daughters sat in the grassy area and I sat on a ledge until just before time for fireworks. We were positioned by a small fenced area so could rest against it during the show itself.

It was full, but there was plenty of room. No having to protect your area or fight for space. It was the most enjoyable fireworks experience we've ever had. We did the dessert buffet a few days later and we thought the FP area was much better-and free!

We were told we needed to stand- some did, those further to the back did not.

I highly recommend hanging toward the back of the section, as most squeeze in toward the front and have less room. We didn't have a problem spreading out on the astroturf (or setting up my tripod). But we were about 2/3 of the way back, right in front of one of the topiaries.

Crowd levels will feel different on different nights since guests self-select between the east and west sections.

Thank you! Any benefits in choosing east over west, or vice versa?

Thank you everyone! I think this will definitely be a FP for our arrival day so we don't have to waste any chance at additional passes! :p

That was a hard one for us. It is difficult to pass up that 4th FP (or 5th or 6th FP). But I wanted to try it once to see if it is worth it.

I'm curious about why they make people stand up. Last summer the FP area for Wishes was in the Rose Garden and everyone sat through the show. DD and I loved it.

I absolutely recommend a fast pass for Wishes. CMs will move people along and not let you stand or sit in any of the other pathways with good views. If you don't, you may end up smoothed in with 40,000 of your best friends along Main Street in order to see it as intended.

Just to clarify- are you forced to stand up in this area?

Lately they have been coming through telling you that you must stand when it starts. You could probably ignore that, but once the people in front of you stand, you are sort of hosed if you don't.

Still, it's nice to be able to sit down while you wait.

You may sit while you are waiting, but a couple of minutes before the CMs will ask you to stand. I think it is for safety/evacuation purposes, although that is speculation in my part. Also, in my experience a couple of weeks ago, they are not militant about it.

We found this true of the castle show. Not a problem for fireworks, though.
