New Hours for Animal Kingdom

Announced today:starting on May 27th and through July 2nd Animal Kingdom will be open in the evenings until 11pm.

Are the Animal Kingdom hours going to be late/evening hours every night? Or, only select nights?

I'm coming in August - I would suspect though that hours will atleast on a regular basis be extended to 9 pm versus the typical 5 pm / 6 pm since they will have the various light shows. The 11 pm scenario through July is I guess more or less a bonus for all the other attraction and rides staying open late.

If they continue multiple RoL performances, that requires a later closing time until the end of "summer" (give or take.)

From 5-27 to 7-2 those hours will be every night. The park already has moved (for the Summer) to a closing time of 8pm, so for that time period it will be an extra 3 hours each night.

OMGosh! I just checked last night, and our AK day was still only open until 8pm. I looked now, and it IS 11pm! I wonder if they'll offer FP+ for the Jungle Book show?

Very cool! I see the 11pm being for the busy Summer months ahead but I bet it goes back to 8 or 9 for the off season. That's what I am anticipating for our October trip.

I'd expect the DAK hours (and RoL shows) to somewhat mirror those of DHS and Fantasmic!

With the known issue of the new RoL seating to be so limited, I'd expect them to run at least two shows nightly of RoL, at least for the first year or so.

Interestingly enough, the fact that they haven't extended them past 7/2 is intriguing. No doubt in my mind they eventually will, but I've heard from a number of sources that they're still holding out hope for a RoL opening around Independence Day, but that still very well may not happen.

Exactly! When will ROL or the new Frozen attractions open? And when will the fastpass selections be available?

Does anyone know what time the "after dark" safari will start? I just want to have my ducks in a row when FP+ time becomes available for it. Hmmmm, now that I think about it, I wonder if in MDE, it will actually make the distinction between 'KS' and 'KS After Dark'.

Not to worry.
Expect the days after that to have at least a midnight closing.
Then, settle back to 11pm for awhile.

I'm thrilled that AK has extended their hrs... but after ROL was postponed, I changed up my plans and DH and I planned to head off to Sea World that night (we have tickets b/c we are going to DC) Hmmm, what do we do now?? I don't want to miss out on the evening stuff at AK.... off to rework the plans again, I guess... need to get this sorted before FP ressies on Tuesday!!
