Good point Talulabelle. Didn't think of that. But can you imagine someone just logging in and happening to find thems elves in the middle of the promo and not be aware of that. Just think they should make it clear to people.

I am not seeing the Contemporary anywhere? Unless it's just very undercover lol

I'm pretty sure it is this one:
Room Type Status Avg Nightly Rate
Garden Wing - Standard View Available $328.74 show details

Garden Wing - Garden View Available $379.31 show details

Ok, I'm on a MacBook...does Chatango work with Macs? If not, then is there another webpage notification software out there for Macs? TIA

The difference is this would be counted as income. If you got a hotel @ $375.00/night x 7 nights, then you would claim an additional $2625 in income and have to pay income taxes on that amount.

It still would be less than the cost of the room itself, so no biggie.

Jeni - I "think" the tax thing is on the "value" of the room total. In other words...it's not the 12% hotel tax. It is counted on your real taxes as taxable income for prize winnings. May not be a big deal though.

The way I am reading it is you are responsible to pay taxes on the full regular value of the stay as income. It is like winning a prize. It isn't the hotel tax that everyone pays when they stay somewhere. We won a TV last year during a promo that our local appliance store had. The Celtics won the World Championships so we were refunded our $1100 we had paid for the TV. We just got a 1099 in the mail to submit with our taxes this year. It is considered income so we have to pay tax on it. I think this sounds like sort of the same thing. So it would be based on the value of whatever you "win". That is how I am understanding it at least.

Wow Poohlovr...great example! I couldn't think of how to explain it. I'm afraid I'm just confusing people. I'll shut up now on this subject!

If you go to a hotel, you pay lodging tax...what is different here???

This isn't sales tax or lodging tax, we're talking INCOME TAX like 33% of the cost of the room, not 5%. It's like winning a prize, so that would be considered income and Obama and my jerk of a governor Omally are gonna want their third.

how do you get on the chatango thing where it notifies you? I went there but how do you get to here it when someone types go - do i have to sign up???

Thanks
Leslie
