New Hotel near swan Dolphin- thoughts?

It's a Marriott and not owned or operated by Disney, so why would it have Disney theming?

It looks like an office complex. I dont like it at all . No Disney theming.
Agree that its lacking in any kind of theming. Disney or otherwise. Its pretty ugly. But then again I've said that about both the Swan & Dolphin - ugly!

The original Swolphin hotels were themed by a Disney competition. Why wouldn't it also have Disney theming?

Why wouldn't what have Disney theming? We are far and away beyond the Eisner years and, even with a Disney competition, there was never anything Disney-IP themed in either the Swan or Dolphin hotels. Graves did that deliberately in the hopes that his swans and dolphins would be further developed into the Disney mythological landscape - that, obviously didn't happen and we are left with hideous eye-sores, IMHO. Oh well - still a good value in the EP area, IMHO! Swan/Dolphin aren't even under the original management and the Dolphin re-do stripped a lot of Graves' original concept away. Please point to anything in the Swan/Dolphin that is or was even remotely Disney themed (except the gift shops) I'm not sure what you are expecting currently. There was no Disney competition for Swan Reserve and Disney simply leases the property to Marriott. Are they ugly? I think Swan Reserve is less ugly than Swan/Dolphin, but they are lighter on the pocket-book while offering many WDW and excellent proximity to DHS/EP. I think a lot of people aren't going to care what these hotels look like, plus much of their revenue is driven by businesses, events and the convention crowd.

Agree that there is nothing in the Swolphin that is "Disney themed". I wasn't trying to say that. However, Disney (Eisner) did approve the design of those hotels.

I have not seen the Reserve however we do love the Swan/Dolphin. We are able to get two deluxe rooms for the price of value properties with Disney this year so ugly or not here we come!!!! Epcot is a favorite of our family and walking to the park is a no brainer for us.... I'm anxious to see the new hotel as we almost went with it.

Disney themed or not, I just think its a very ugly-looking building. Swan/Dolphin are not Disney themed, but they're still architecturally beautiful.

But if the amenities are nice and the price is right, who cares, I suppose.

:confused3

I don't care what it looks like, and I don't care about Disney theming. I'm nor one of those 'Disney magic' people. I just hope it is actually fully open in time for our late Sept reservation! Using Marriott free night certificates, good deal.

Eisner also green-lighted Euro Disney and hired Michael Ovitz . . . eek
