new hotel across from the park?

Thanks. Looks pretty small. I wonder if they will tear down the rest of the quality Inn after the Express is done and then put up another small hotel?

There are a boatload of new hotels going in. Some of the hotels in the graphic below are done (Springhill and Hotel Indigo), close to being done are the Hyatt House, Homewood Suites, HI Express and the Courtyard. The Great Wolf is about half done and it is massive. It has a real water park, not a pool with a slide or two.

Here are the Great Wolf plans. It will be indoors.

Oh.... and with the Anaheim Plaza (formerly the Hyatt Anaheim) selling for $47 million, my guess they will tear down eventually and go big on the footprint, but it will take at least 4 years to get plans and approvals.

I have booked HOJO for our stay in late September however they only have the smallest rooms available. We have stayed once before and the kids do love the waterpark and how close it is to walk to DL. Now I see the Holiday Inn on South Manchester will be opening in August and their rooms seem bigger and include breakfast. As my kids will be 7 and 9 we really want to stay as close as possible. My question is - do you think you would be able to walk from the Holiday Inn through to South Harbor Blvd without walking all the way around past HOJO to get to DL? Google maps shows the area in between as being carparks but not sure if we could use this as a cut through and come out by McDonalds.

I actually do love walking to keep fit but am just thinking of how tired we will be after a busy day at the parks. I am also keeping an eye on the Courtyard by Marriott as it looks nice too.

The second hotel that will be behind the Mariott will be a new Holiday Inn Express that will also have a small water play area. It is set to open in Aug.

That seems to be the new trend. A plain old pool just doesn't cut it anymore. I love this! In Orlando, the only a few of the 27 Disney hotels don't have waterslides. The rest do, and my kids love it. I think it would be great to see more water playground options outside of the outrageously expensive Disney Anaheim hotels.

I saw some updates on the new Courtyard by Marriot today on Hojo's Facebook page. Looks like cost will be less than the onsite hotels, but more than all of the 4-star hotels that aren't in walking distance. They will probably offer AP discounts, though they don't have exact discount information yet. All rooms will be 500+ sq. ft., which is awesome for those of us with big families! Reservations were confirmed to start either in April or possibly May. I seriously can't wait! Will be booking this hotel for my twins' second birthday next January and possibly once before that.

Wow! Looks like there's a plethora of new hotels coming in, actually tempted to reconsider our decision to stay onsite this summer!

Any idea on if anything is happening with the proposed Residence Inn listed on #10 as taking the place where the Jolly Roger hotel used to be? (Next to the new Springhill)? I tried looking around online for info but I've come up empty handed.

Love the look of the water park! Can't wait to try it out!

I haven't stayed offsite since I traveled with my parents. What do the hotels on harbor typically cost for a standard room?

It all depends on the season and what is happening in the area. We stayed at the Farifield, last October, for $97 a night. Currently they are listing rooms at around $150 a night, but if you go during a popular weekend or holiday, expect to pay around $250 a night.
