New Hollywood Studios bus loop to open soon!

Really? I thought only like 6 people per car was what I'd heard.
About 8-10 per car. But they will be going through the stations significantly more frequently than buses do. Someone in the gondola thread calculated it all out and figured that the gondola capacity would equal out to a full bus leaving each stop every few minutes. When it's more like every 20 minutes on average for buses.

So we are staying at BWV for the first time in December. Will it now be quicker to take the boats or is the walk really not that much longer and still the better option?

Maybe a minute longer. Seriously they walk you past the bus queue right now due to construction. That queue is getting closed and they are putting you through the new area which is next to the existing queue. It is not a big deal and will change again in the future so just go with the flow.

Interesting. Not sure I want to be up that high above the ground with that much weight. Guess that will eliminate the Gondola resorts from my list.

Well to each their own, but it won't be very high up at all, estimates are about 20 feet. And I'd easily trust a gondola system, which are incredibly safe, over a bus that is on the road with other drivers. I don't have a source, but I'd be willing to bet all my money that the likelihood of getting into an accident on a bus is infinitely more likely than falling off a gondola. Considering the last death on an enclosed gondola in North America was over 40 years ago.

Yep the capacity and efficiency of a gondola is pretty big.

There won’t be any weight issues. These systems are used in major tourist/city destinations all the time. Check out Lift Blog.

I was watching another vlogger yesterday at CB and he showed some of the gondola towers. They were easily 60 to 80 feet off the ground. He commented that it will be interesting to see what they do with the afternoon lightning storms and sometimes high winds. They will likely be closed as often as the boats in the summer.

Hope not, but it’s probably likely. We stayed at POR last week and didn’t get to use the boats to/from DS at all due to lightning issues.

Oh yes the Tim tracker they did look pretty tall

I just hope there is signage directing us to the new BW path route wherever it is. I have been known to get turned around when it is dark even though I have been walking it for 12 years. Add a couple Star Wars dessert party drinks and who know where I will end up. ;)

And my recollection is that they will not be air conditioned.
