Hello! I'm new here. Someone gave me the like to here since I want to have my wedding in Disney World. I know I want to do the Wishes Collection and I think I want to have it at the Wedding Pavilion. Our guest list is very large right now (trying our hardest to cut it down a bit). I know this sounds stupid but I've never been to Disney World..or Land at that. I know nothing about the place except it is amazing. There is no doubt in my mind that this is where I want my wedding though. My Fiance and I are going to FL to see the place and talk to a wedding planner this summer. We plan on getting married on 08-11-11. If you all could give me some pointers on where to start and what on earth I should be doing or knowing that would help a lot! Thanks so much!:lovestruc

Since you already have a date in mind, that is a good start...but have one or two backup dates in mind too. Also, have a budget in mind before you sit down with your wedding planner. There are so many options that can add up quickly! We initially met with Bill Barchik, but our wedding planner was Marion - she was great! Most of all, have fun with the planning. It truly is a magical experience to have your wedding at Disney!

First off, congratulations! My DF and I just started planning our DFTW (we're getting married this December at the Wedding Pavilion) so I know what you're going through! It can be quite overwhelming at the beginning.

You already have a date in mind, which is really helpful. I knew exactly what date I wanted too and was lucky enough to have it be available when I called. I would definitely start researching some reception locations as well before you go talk to a planner. I did a lot of research before I called and it definitely made the call and the initial planning go very smoothly!

HTH! :goodvibes

Congrats! I would say watch the wedding pictures of fellow Disney brides- they give you lots of ideas on colors, flowers, decorations, and any upgrades.

Everyone on here is REALLY nice and helpful and will answer any and all of your questions. I would definatly check out the WP and possibly other locations- and maybe want to think if you would want to do rehearsal dinners, welcome dinners, dessert party, reception- bc you could check those locations out too!

I think my last bit of advice is to check in, because Disney rules change quite often, so it's best to stay in the loop. (I know in the short time it took for me to plan my wedding February-October, the photography rules changed 3 times-LOL) Other than that- happy planning!
