Hi everyone I am Dawn and I am new here. Just need a little advice on tent sites. We are leaving next sat for 5 nights at the Fort. There are 10 of us with two tents. One is 10x20 and the other is 15x17 is there a site or two that someone would recommend more than others that is bigger? I have checked out alot of your photos you have posted and I was thinking of something like 2020 or 2063? I have requested loop 2000, am I wrong? Please help and thank you very much in advance. :wave2:

First let me say :welcome:

You're going to love the Fort. I am not the best to answer this question, having never tented the Fort, but I believe most of the partial sites will be ample for your two tents. I'm sure there are some sites that are larger and believe that the site assigners try to place larger parties on the larger sites, but a fax request to that effect might be worth-while. As is often stated around here, a feature request (i.e. large site, near comfort station) is more easily honored than a site number request. Here is the fax number and form.

You should have no problem with the 2000 loop. There are very large sites in that area with large sand pads. Have a great time!

Welcome to the camping boards...beware of that guy Shan...he thinks he's Santa!!!!;)

2000 is definately the way to go for you...the sites are bigger than the ones in the 1500 loop...but some are larger than others

I would suggest that you fax the Fort sometime early Monday morning (407-824-3508) with just a brief description of your equipment along with your reservation information...often this will make a difference in the site they decide to put you in.

If you arent able to get that done, when you check in and decide you need a larger site... and see an empty site, say, across the street, or a couple of sites down that would better suit you...you can usually contact the front desk and request to transfer to the larger site. Ive heard of people doing this without a problem AS LONG AS THERE IS AN EMPTY SITE. Many dont know(at least "I" didnt know) that although they pre-assign the sites, its "first come, first serve", so if you arrive before someone who is assigned a larger site...and you want that site...a request will get you it. (..get you it......hmmmm, is that proper English???)

Anyway...good luck and here's to you having a blast!!!!

Welcome, another vote for 2000 being the loop for you. :thumbsup2

Welcome, soon you will have the camping bug, be assimilated and join the rest of us in the insane asylum! :rotfl2:

Howdy!!! Welcome!!!

Just wanted to let you know that from personal experience 2020 is a GREAT site for large tent setups. It has a good sized pad and is level around the edges so you can "stretch" it just a bit. I've had a 13x13 L shaped tent and two 8x10 tents on there and then 3 shelters. It is right down the path from the comfort station also!!

Here are some pictures:

Funny but your pictures are the ones I looked at to make me want to use 2020. They are perfect, thank you very much for having put them on here. I plan to take photos too so that I may help other people as well. :)
