Hey everyone! My fiance and I recently decided on having a Disney wedding and i couldn't be more excited!! We're getting married on 2/14/08 at the Yacht Club Gazebo!

I have a question for those who got married at the Yacht Club Gazebo. When you got married was there a lot of people out on the balconies watching? (i don't mind it though because i'd LOVE all the attention i can get on my wedding day!! haha) just want an idea so i can prepare my fiance for it (hes a little more reserved than I am!) Thanks guys!!! :)

I have seen pics with people on their balconies watching, which is the reason why I will not be getting married there.

Wow! There are a bunch of us getting married on 2/14/08! :dance3: Congrats on getting your date/location. I have not personally seen any of the weddings at the gazebo however the pics all look gorgeous! Good luck with your planning!

Congratulations and :welcome: I can't help you out with your question, but I am looking forward to reading more about it. Best of luck with the planning. :tink:

Congrats and welcome to the board. It will be very helpful! We got married at the Yacht Club at 2:00 on a Saturday and there were not a lot of people watching from the balconies, maybe 5 people tops (probably b/c they were out at the parks). But there were more people watching from the boardwalk. A couple of little girls saw me in the lobby and wanted to follow me, so they watched from the end of the brick pathway up to the gazebo, which didn't bother me since it is a long pathway and I couldn't hear anyone talking. In our wedding video though you can see more and more people joining the pack and we probably had about 25 people watching from the boardwalk. They were all respective and just yelled "Congratulations" as we were walking back down the aisle.
I didn't mind people watching as long as they kept their distance. We were going to get married at our favourite resort in Mexico, but after seeing a wedding there we agreed that we couldn't do it. People flocked from the beaches and the bride had an older gentleman in a speedo following her down the aisle with a video camera (and he wasn't supposed to be there!:rotfl:). The wedding planner couldn't control all the viewers, so she ended up just keeping the area between the bride and groom and the beach clear for the pictures.
You'll love a wedding at the Yacht Club!

i got married at the YCG back in 97 & we had 2 balconies with lookers & they were quite as church mice & some stragglers on the boardwalk & they watched as they walked by....no big interuptions.....but things got fun as we walked around the boardwalk & over by the epcot entrance...people treated us like stars....& we took a boat ride & another boat passing announced us & you could see everyone pressed up against the glass....AAAHHHH good times

An experience I will never forget

You'll love it

Congrats:thumbsup2

We too had a a Yacht Club wedding. There were just a few poeple watching, and a few around the Boardwalk area. They will not bother you except for the odd congratulations. Disney will ensure the public are kept back. Trust me you probably wont even notice anyway...it's like being in one of those little bubbles.
They Yacht Club is so beautiful. You photographer can have lots of pictures taken aoround the gardens, the Boardwalk, with the lighthouse, on the beach, and inside the Yacht club lobby.
It's my 1st anniversary coming up in a few days, and I am dreaming of being there again.
Congratulations, you'll have a wonderful time!

DH and I felt the same way, that's why we chose WL Sunrise Terrace. I wanted an outdoor location and it's pretty private. The weekend he proposed (it was a complete surprise!) we stayed at a hotel on the beach and there were 2 weddings - one in the couryard right below our room and we watched. I thought, o.k. I wouldn't want anyone doing this to me, but I want to watch :rolleyes1

Very true! All I could see, hear, feel, was my husband-to-be and it was completely magical :cloud9: You probably won't notice much going on around you!

Congrats and Best Wishes!

Congrats and Welcome. My friend got married there and she did draw quite a little crowd, but I don't think she noticed!!!! My favorites were two little girls who came out on the deck to watch with their teddy bears. It was really heart warming to see that. Maybe one day while I am at Disney I will see them again, this time making their Fairytale come true!
