New here, please explain "lanyards"

Hi. I am new here, saw a picture that seems like a good idea, but not sure of some things. The cards you get that show what hotel you are at (I will be at POP in June)....are they similar in design to a credit card? Does it have a hole it it to put on a string? Is that a "Lanyard" you can get to put it on around your neck for easy access? Finally, can you do that with the WDW/MGM/ANIMAL, etc. actual park tickets too and do they have holes as well? I was reading posts and saw a family with things hanging around each one's neck and if this is what they are for...great!!!! Where do I get them? I feel like I live under a rock when it comes to Disney...it's been a long time and we are taking the 3 and 5 year old in June, so it's time to become reacquainted with WDW again!

I'm not sure what you are talking about. Where is the picture that you saw?

When my husband and I went to WDW in October our room key was also our park tickets and you could charge things with it so that it adds it to your room bill. My husband bought at one of the gift shops a small case just a little bigger than a credit card that is water proof that held his room key, an extra credit card, our photopass cards and some cash when we wanted or needed. Is this the kind of thing you are looking for? You can see it in the pictures in my signature. I can get better pictures if you want or need.

We use he same thing as WeirdTigger uses.

I have mine on a chain and keep it in my pocket.

DW and both have theirs from the resorts they just work well for park use and not carrying an entire wallet.

I keep Dl,CC, Room card ,DVC ,Photopass card and a bit of cash with no problem.

They do have lanyards you can buy that have plastic envelopes you can slip your card key/tickets into. They look the same as the pin trading lanyards. I personally wouldn't choose to carry my ticket that way because I can't stand having something hanging around my neck like that. I just carried my family's all together in a small pocket inside the back pack that we brought to the parks.
