firstly, this site is great, and has given me lots of info, but still i am unsure of a few things and wud love some experienced help!

we are looking at going to dlrp in june for 3 nights. we are hoping to stay at hotel cheyenne, as it looks a good choice, and quite 'themey'. Now, the first question is..... are there any days of the week that are quieter than others... obviously saturday and sunday are busy, but was wondering if maybe mondays are the quietest, or is there no difference?

also, i see mention of character meals, breakfast & lunches? is that right? so, how do you go about booking these, do u get a choice of places/times, and more importantly - is it worth it??

we will be driving down and using eurotunnel, is there a supermarket anywhere near disney that is easy to find?? just thinking of stocking up on bread, unless there are other ways?? thought that with breakfast in the hotel, then either home made rolls for lunch and dinner in the village, or the rolls for tea....

can u also hire pushchairs there, in case the youngest gets too tired??

have only been to dlrp once, and that was nearly 10 yrs ago, and without kids, so am guessing that its changed alot.

any recommendations of where to do, things to see etc pls let me know, as want my boys (4 1/2 yrs & 2 1/2yrs) to get the most out of this trip...

First of all to the DIS boards!

Have a look at the useful information stickies at the top of this board to help with your planning.

The nearest supermarket will be Auchan which is at Val d'Europe. I've never driven there but it is one stop away by train. It is huge and you will be able to stock up with essentials as you have a car. You can also pick up drinks, snacks etc at the railway station on the way to the parks which are cheaper than the parks.

You will find lots of people on these boards love the Hotel Cheyenne especially for its theming but it's actually the only Disney hotel I haven't stayed at. You will be able to walk to the parks from the hotel or you can use the free shuttle bus.

I think the parks are much busier than they use to be with the 15th anniversary celebrations. However, the weekends are always very busy.

You can hire pushchairs but if you are taking your own car and in view of the age of your children I would recommend taking your own. A day at Disney is very tiring.

Some of the character meets can be a bit of a rugby scrum at busy times so I would definitely recommend booking a character meal. This way the characters visit your table and you can get autographs and photos with queuing. This could be breakfast, lunch or dinner. We especially like the Lucky Nugget Saloon in the park and Cafe Mickey in the Village.

With little ones you will probably spend a lot of time in Fantasyland and they will probably enjoy the Buzz Lightyear laser quest in DP and Cars ride at WDS. You should also see the parades and shows. Have a great trip.

I believe Tuesday is supposed to be the quietest day but the parks are much busier than they used to be.

Each different option has their good points. There is a direct booking line for restaurants or you can book them with your hotel when you get there if it's not too busy a period.

There is a huge supermarket, Auchan, a short drive away.

At their age they will probably like most things in Fantasyland, Pirates of the Caribbean unless the little one gets scared easily, Buzz Lightyear and all the shows and parades.

my oldest claimed a disneyland leaflet that came thru the post today, and has now told me who he wants to see, and that we must go to the cars ride, so ill be in trouble if we dont!!

yes, can imagine that its busy most times, am hoping it might be a lil quieter as coming up to all the schools big holidays - well, i can dream.... am really looking forward to it...

I'd like to second Poohmadmum's tip to take your own pushchair since you're driving. Even if your two year old can cope with walking round the park in the day, it's a long long way back to the hotel for him. We went with our 2 yr old in Feb, took our own pushchair and had no problems.

also the hire pushchairs don't recline, it'd be nice if lil un could lay back.
Cheyenne is wonderful we went last june and loved it, they do pony rides in the morning which was a nice experience for our ds who was just 4 at the time.
this forum helped me plan our first trip so much

I can concur with using a buggy. Even your oldest will benefit from being able to rest his legs as you'll be surprised at how much walking you'll do
We made very good use of the buggy rental and appreciated the old style that had a drop down "boogie board" which allowed an older child to stand at the back

I have a word file on my PC that I just paste notes into, then it can always be printed off to take away with you as a reminder, if necessary.
