Hi Everyone!
I'm new here, but not new to Disney! I have been several times and even spent my honeymoon there (at Caribbean Beach ) but it has been almost five years since I was last at DinseyWorld.
DH and I are planning to take the family (us and three girls, 7, 6, and 4). We are thinking about Polynesian Resort, but haven't decided. I am wondering, do we need to go ahead and book rooms now? I know I also need to think about character breakfasts/meals, etc.
HELP!
We don't have exact dates yet, but I am feeling a little nervous that if we don't go ahead and book right now we will be without a place to stay or character breakfasts, etc.
Thoughts?
Thanks so much for your tips and comments (in advance!)

:welcome: to the DIS!

I wouldn't stress too much about getting a resort booked this second. You could call and check a few sets of dates or different resorts and that should give you an idea of whats available. Go ahead and begin to firm up your dates then book.

Should any special offers be released (such as free dining) you should be able to change your reservation with out any problems (as long you are making your changes before 45 days for a package or 6 days for room only reservations).

You could check out the Codes & Rates board for info on Free Dining and of course come back here with any additional questions!

Welcome to the DIS! :goodvibes

I love going to WDW in August. Yes it is hot and can be crowded at times, but I always have so much fun! I would definitely recommend the Poly. It is one of my favorite resorts and it is so close to the Magic Kingdom. My favorite building is Rapa Nui because it is so close to the TTC. The only downside to that building is that it is kind of far away from the Great Ceremonial House.

I would book your room fairly soon, so you will be able to stay in a place you are happy with. Since you are planning going in August you can either go to the WDW website and check out the park hours or go here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/hours.htm

Do you know how many days you are planning on staying? Or if you will be visiting the water parks or park hopping? Also are you going to be on the dining plan? If you go in late August they probably will have their free dining promotion.

I would first figure out what days you want to go, then look over the park hours. Then choose what park or parks you would like to visit on which day. Then go check out this website: http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm, which has all the menus for the all restaurants. Then you can pick which ones you want to go to and book them 180 days in advance.

I hope this helps you and feel free to ask any other questions you have!! Good luck planning! :goodvibes
