New here--Need advice about park pass for 2 yr. old

Hello everyone! I'm new here (YAY!) and I think you're the perfect group to give me some advice. I am planning a trip to WDW in April. Our daughter will be 2 when we arrive in Disney but will turn 3 during the trip. (We will also be celbrating her birthday while we're there with the whole Birthday button thing, cupcake at her meal, etc.) I've read MANY conflicting reports about this and can't seem to get a clear answer. My question is--Do I need to go out and buy her a park pass when she turns 3 or is she considered to be 2 for the whole trip since she was 2 when we arrived? My conscience is telling me I have to buy her a pass, but my pocketbook is BEGGIN for mercy!!! Does anyone have any factual info on this? I've contacted WDW directly but didn't hear back.

I've read at least 10 times on here that if the child is 2 at the start of the trip Disney consideres them 2 for the entire trip. I'm not sure if this is an "official" policy. I believe when they ask for the child's age it is phrased as "at time of check-in", not "during the trip".

I do know that for discounts they go by when you check-in. For example, we got free ticket upgrades on our trip. I thought we wouldn't qualify because our check-in day was the last day of the offer, but we did.

It also wouldn't make sense to buy a ticket just for the days the child is 3. If you are staying 9 days and the child turns 3 on day 5, you'll pay almost as much for a 5 day ticket as you would for a 9 day ticket.

I just now received this response from WDW. So it seems I'm in the clear for a ticket for her, correct? That is what he is saying?

I'm doing the same thing.... taking my DD2 who will be turing 3 on our 4th day there. I'm going with "the age on day of check in" theory. I figure the worst that can happen is that I have to hop out of line and buy her a ticket. I SERIOUSLY doubt that will happen though. Also, just to put your mind at ease with food, I asked a CM on the phone the other day about meals. I booked 1900 Park Fare for her "birthday" dinner and said that I feel funny celebrating her 3rd birthday and not paying for her. The CM said that happens all the time and not to worry about it. Have a great trip!!!!!!!!!
