Hello! I am new, trying to find my way on the WISH forum, but some of these threads are really long and if I jump in on any of them, I'd feel like I was butting in.

I am wanting to loose some weight. I know this is a lifestyle change, but going on a cruise is my motivation to do really well. I joined curves about a month ago, I did really well for about 3 weeks, and then we moved and I haven't been back since. I have lose 2 lbs by listening to my body when i'm full, and not feeling like I have to finish my plate. I want to continue to loose weight, 5lbs a month sounds about right for me.

So, does anyone out there want to buddy up, and tell each other what we ate that day and how we exercised so we feel more accountable? Anybody want to be a mentor? Or if you have a group that wouldn't mind accepting me, I am open for suggestion. Thanks!

Welcome Roni.

Threads sometimes get skipped over here. I'd love to have some buddies I can be accountable to. I need that or I end up quitting.

The groups are sometimes hard to keep up with here but there a lot of them for different subjects. :) I did well with my habits when I frequented this board and have added it as my home page on firefox so its what I see first. I"m working on getting into a exercise routine this week so by August I feel prepared to start back the exercise challenges.

I keep trying to do both at once and ended up stopping in the first week and feel completely lousy. I know I can do this I have before. SO I'm starting with exercise the next two weeks and then I will decide the next step. I need slow changes. I've scheduled my Walk Away the Pounds dvd workout into my calendar with my other appointments so I can keep track of my exercise that way too.

Do you mostly work out to DVD's? Do you have any to recommend? I like to do the wii fit, DH bought me the Biggest Loser wii game, so i want to start with that, and in the evenings, go for a walk.

I work full time, so it's kinda hard to squeeze in exercise, not cause of time, but sheer tiredness.

Hey I wanna join you too! or You two.. which ever the case may be. I desperately need someone to be accountable to. I have a WISH journal and haven't used it a whole lot.. bad girl. But I think I am going with the idea that for now I am going to watch what I put in my mouth for 2 weeks and then add the exercise. Now don't get me wrong. I will exercise if I feel up to it. But with this heat, I just can't seem to get motivated! Or something. Then this week is TOM so I am waiting till that's over... good excuse right?:rotfl:

I honestly got frustrated with the BL game b/c I felt like it wasn't giving me credit for the work I was doing. Also the challenges were hard to get just right. But good luck with that. I tend to try to either walk on the treadmill or do Jilian's shred DVD. I also have 2 weeks worth of her circuits from her website. I just cancelled my subscription there b/c I noticed it wasn't helping. If I haden't "been good" I avoided checking in there!

Hello all! Just a quickie to say new people are ALWAYS welcome on the "Skinny Island" thread. I was a bit hesitant to join (I just joined about a month and a half ago) and everyone there was very welcoming and nice!

As for Wii and videos, I use the Biggest Loser Cardio Max video, and also do some things on the WiiFit. (Super Hula Hoop, Run, strength training). I'm also a beginner, I was completely sedentary when I started..the Cardio Max dvd is great..split into 3 levels, and level 1 has modifications shown so you can "keep up" even though you can't keep up, if that makes sense..LOL. I just moved to level 2, and it's kicking my butt all over again! Anyway, feel free to wander over if you like :)

Mostly yeah because I can't pay a gym membership right now and its too hot to do much outside.

I have Walk Away The Pounds by Leslie Sansone its pretty good for starting out. I have a 3 mile "walk" and can vary it by fast forwarding to cool down or doing my own(you pretty much get it memorized after awhile). I also have Tae Bo but find it challenging and I have to gain endurance first. I have another cardio/strength that had a bad for the toning but the band broke. And pilates for dummies which I like to do in the evenings usually.

I am wanting to get a Wii for dd for Christmas and if it works out I want the Wii Fit. :) I do enjoy the Biggest Loser shows but haven't watched them at regular times(current seasons) in years. Just don't really watch tv at all. I may get peeved if it seemed the game wasn't giving me all the credit. I'd probably log it(I use sparkpeople) as full credit(time or whatnot).

Hello Ladies! :goodvibes

Just popping in to invite you to join the Between the BLs (Biggest Loser) Summer Challenge. It's never too late to join a BL challenge. You can read more about how the challenge works here -- http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=36638729&postcount=1 There are about six or seven weeks left to go and the fall challenge starts in mid-September. You can participate in the thread and not participate in the weigh-ins or vice versa but we hope that you do both. :goodvibes It might be a little daunting jumping in at this stage but everyone is very nice and welcoming. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Good luck on your journey to good health! :flower3:

I'm definitely in! The exercise challenge thread here on the WISH boards really helps to keep me motivated. You can commit to as many or few minutes as you want to each month. :)
