I'm new here off to DLRP mid June for the first time with DH and DD 2.5.

We are arriving Sunday evening for 4 nights staying at Cheyenne

I'm feeling panicky because i've not booked any dining.

My only other disney experience is wdw last December when everything had to be booked months in advance!

I wanted to book a meal for the first night but DH thinks we should wait and see and not commit to a set time etc. Will we get a park ticket included for the sunday or should we just explore disney village?

I'm thinking of doing the plaza gardens character tea party - do we need to book? If i do do I just ring up-main booking was done on disney website. DD was frightened of characters close up at wdw so am reluctant to spend the cash on chef mickey's etc.

Also i like the sound of the good morning fantasyland breakfast - can i swap two (or more) of the hotel breakies for that and can i do that by ringing or just on check in.

I'm thinking small snack in room, take advantage of EMH and then breakie(brunch) 10ish in park. Then eat again 4ish(DD eats around this time at home)

Hope that is not too many questions for one thread

thanks

Stephanie

Hi Stephanie,

Welcome to the boards :goodvibes .

If you have booked a package at the Cheyenne, and arrive anytime on Sunday, yes, you get park tickets for that day included.

You don't need to book ahead for dining on your first evening, so long as you're not looking to eat at just after the main park closing time. Also you say you intend eating dinner whilst at DLRP at around 4pm (so 5pm in France) - you're unlikely to have to book anywhere in advance for this time, as it will be quiet in the restaurants. The restaurants get busiest at the main park closing time.

The Plaza Gardens tea party you can book the day before, or even the morning that you want to go, by going to the restaurant itself in the morning, or to City Hall in the Park (you can book all restaurants here by the way, and they are very helpful and friendly).
What I will say about the tea party is, the characters do the same kind of interaction here as they do at Cafe Mickey - ie they each come round each table, so you can have a photo/autograph/hug with each one. Just a heads-up as you say your little one doesn't much like that.

The Good Morning Fantasyland breakfast - you can't book this in advance anymore, but if you ask when you check into the Cheyenne, you'll be able to have this option instead of hotel breakfast, for as many mornings as you like, so long as there is availability. From what I remember, we were offered 9.15 or 9.45 slots for GMF.

Hope this helps,

Elaine

Hi Stephanie and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

You have came to the right place to get help with your DLP trip planning :thumbsup2

As the bulk of your trip is mid-week I'd consur that you do not need to feel pressured making meal reservations in advance :)

Thanks for the warm welcome

I thought we'd try the tea party to test the waters with DD - it's alot cheaper than a full character meal and if we have to leave because she doesn't like it, it wont be a problem

She will be 7 months older at DLRP and i suspect she will be ok with the characters now

Thanks

Stephanie

Welcome to the DIS Stephanie :)

Planning a trip to DLP is much more relaxing than planning a trip to WDW! If there is a particular restaurant you want to eat at, at a particular time on a particular night then it's worth ringing to make reservation a week or so before you go - otherwise just do it when you get there. There's none of this 180 days rubbish!! ;) :thumbsup2

I didn't book my Wednesday meal til Tuesday morning :scared: - and it was no bother at all:)

i've been in august when it has been really busy and not booked a table until the morning or early afternoon on the day of the meal with no problems at all...even in cafe mickey and the blue lagoon!

stephanie....
