New here! How do you upgrade to concierge service?

Hi all! I am new here and my family and I are taking our first trip to Disney with the kids in August. Our kids are 3, 7 and 9. We booked the Poly for 8 nights through expedia.com. We got a standard room for $212 per night. Expedia did not offer a concierge room so we just booked the standard one. I've read that you can "upgrade" a standard room to concierge service.

Does anyone know how to do this and how much it typically costs? Do I call the Poly directly for the upgrade?

Thanks a bunch!!

That is a great rate for the Poly! My understanding is that you can ask when you check in if any upgrades are available & how much it would cost per night. The earlier you can check in, the better (in terms of room availability & getting what you want). Some people check in early in the morning, leave their luggage in hotel storage, & go off to the parks until their room is ready if it is not ready when they arrive. Our last visit in May, we checked in at ~ 11 am, went off to Epcot & lunch & they called us on our mobile when the room was ready!

Also, you may want to know the differences between the different rooms before you can check in so you can know what to ask for. The Poly is broken up into different buildings & I believe Hawaii is concierge; Tahiti is also supposed to be very nice (lagoon view with a view of the MK & fireworks). Read through the different threads here on the boards that relate to the Poly.

Hope you have a fantastic trip!

I would call WDW Central Reservation Office (CRO), since the Poly will not know about your ressie until about 4 days prior to your arrival. Ask the CM at CRO how you would go about doing the upgrade, since you booked through Expedia.

Unless you are willing to just ask at check-in and see if anything is available. Of course then you would miss the opportunity of using the concierge planning office to assist with PS and other arrangements.

I don't know for sure, since you booked through Expedia, but this is the route I would try.

Good luck
