What exactly are developers points ?

Developer Points have been used at times as an incentive for DVC purchase. They are basically points owned by the developer (Disney Vacation Development - DVD) which they provide to buyers in addition to the points coming with their contract itself. There are usually restrictions regarding the use of these Developer Points. The Dev. Pts currently available to AKV buyers can only be used at SSR at WDW (they can also be used at DL resorts and for the World Passport Collection), cannot be banked and will expire 12 months from the purchase.

These points are not currently offered for purchases at BLT. Prior to SSR, they had not been used as an incentive for sales at other DVC resorts.
