I am new here, I have been lurking a bit. I am planning to hit Disney in march, its been about six years since my families last visit. I was looking into renting DVC points but the process seems a bit overwhelming so I might just stay off site. Has anyone else had any experience in DVC point renting if not I might can the idea. Just a lot to take in...(big sigh!)

Check out our DVC boards and the Points Rental board there (you have to logged in as a member to read it). There is lots of great information and you can ask questions and talk to others over there.

Welcome, we rented twice before buying our own. Both rentals went very very smoothly. You are not renting points, you are renting a reservation from a DVC member. There are positives, but there are also cons with renting. You need to be a very educated renter. As suggested, check out the DVC boards for all of your questions and answers. If you don't feel comfortable getting into that type of deal, why not stay at a resort on site?
