:) We are going to WDW and are staying at the WL in July! My husband turns the big 4-0 in June and when I asked him what he wanted for his birthday, he "jokingly" mentioned that he'd like to stay on Disney property for the 1st time! Well, he's getting his wish! WE are very excited. Being "first timers" staying onsite, there is a lot to learn about all the "perks"!

I've read every post on this FAQ thread and it has been a tremendous help. I, too, applaud 999ghsts for her patience and input! You've done a fabulous job answering everyone's questions.

I have a couple of questions for you now, if you don't mind. I have booked a woodsview room with a king bed. I've read that king rooms come with a roll-in shower. I know that means no tub, but is it like a shower stall then? I guess I'm confused about the term "roll-in" (like I said, I'm a newbie, so forgive me!) Are there king sized bed woodsview rooms available on the upper floors? I'm intrigued by the post where 999ghsts suggested the North wing overlooking the otters (my favorite!). I would definitely love to book a room in this location, if there are king bed rooms available in that location. IF not, I'd would look into changing to requesting 2 queens.

Lastly, and I'm sorry this got long winded, if I mention on my faxed request that it is my husband's 40th birthday, will the resort recognize this? Or do I have to be specific in my request? I just know my husband would love to find a balloon and/or a card from Mickey in our room!

Thanks in advance!

 ok, I'm not sure how I should have posted this under the WL FAQs, but that is where I wanted it to go! Could someone help a confused new comer? How do I put a post there instead of posting to the main board?

Thanks!

Hi Pluto14,

Welcome to the Dis and don't worry you posted your question in the right place. One of these very knowledgeable people will help you out soon.
I don't have answers to your questions. Just wanted to ease you mind about where you posted your question and say welcome. Or just reply to the thread in the WL FAQ'S someone there should be able to help you out.

Don't know much about the roll in showers or the birthday question but as to your question on posting, when you want to to make a post that is part of the same series of posts you are looking at, you click "Reply" and then type out your post. What you did is click "New Thread" which starts a whole new subject on the boards. Note though that your post is just fine for a new thread.

I would make seperate arrangements for the birthday. For Mother's Day I called the Walt Disney World Florist and had a gift basket delivered to my wife in the room. For only $35 she received a beautiful wire butterfly basket with bath salts, lotion, etc. and a scented bear that she can put in her suitcase when she travels. Have a great trip!

A roll in shower is an accommodation for wheelchair access. It simply means the shower stall will be larger and there will be no basin lip at the bottom. These shower stalls will usually have a seat inside that can be utilized for bathing. The shower is also large enough to allow you to simply use it as a standing shower.

...to the thread called "NEW Wilderness Lodge FAQ!!!" and post any question you may have on that thread. Just click on "Post Reply". Usually that is a good place to post, because 999ghsts is really terrific about answering anyone's questions in a timely manner, as well as giving precise answers. Besides, your questions might help other DIS'ers out there....!!!

I really appreciate the tips of posting! I will try posting my message as a reply over on the WL FAQ page. Thanks again!
:)
