Just wanted to introduce myself, and say that I am SO glad I found these boards! It has been perhaps the best source of information I have found for planning our current trip.

A little bit about me and my family. It's been nearly 13 years since my wife and I have been to DW. We now have a 4, almost 5 year old, daughter, and we are taking her on her first trip to Disney the last week of April\first week of May this year! Along with her nana who has not been to Disney since she took me back when I was 13. (That's uh, 26 years ago, LOL).

Anyway, we are scheduled to be there from April 27th through May 3rd. (7 days, six night). We will be staying at the All Start Movie Resort, and well, simply can't wait to get there. We purchased everything though Disney on line, with the exception of the airline stuff, as we will be flying Allegiant Air directly from Allentown PA to Orlando, non stop, for a very reasonable price. (I liked the idea of the non stop due to traveling with my daughter). We also purchased the dining plan, and I've already made reservations for all of the sit down meals, most of which are character oriented. Not sure who is going to enjoy that more, my daughter or me, hehe, as I'm kind of a big kid myself.

We are really looking forward to seeing how things have changed over the past 13 years, and are already talking about making the trip again within the next two years in case we miss anything. :)

I guess that's about it, and again, just wanted to post something here as I have found this place to be a tremendous source of information and a great place for afternoon reading!

Take care all!

:welcome:

Lets see... 26+13 is 39. A great age to visit WDW. But then again so is 93. Aww... who am I kidding? Any age is a great age to visit.

BTW you have a great writing style. How about a trip report after you get back?

Welcome to DIS! Boy, 13 years away from the magic?! You're definitely in for a surprise with all the additions to Disney! Be sure to take your daughter to see the Lion King Show at Animal Kingdom...have her sit in the very first row in any section. She could be pulled up to participate in the show! You'll be bawling like a baby. hehe ;) You'll really enjoy the dining plan with not having to worry about how much things cost. One thing that my husband and I found that worked for us is sharing Counter service meals. We would either us a snack credit to get a box of donuts for breakfast or share a counter service for breakfast and then a counter service for dinner. There's just so much food that sharing really worked out well and we're very big eaters. Doing it this way gave us more credits to use throughout our vacation. Hope you have a wonderful, magical vacation!

Thanks for the welcomes and the warm wishes all!

Yeah, 13 years since the last visit is a LONG time, but unfortunately, circumstances did not permit us to do a really "big" vacation for quite a few years. Now we need to make up for that over the next couple of years. :yay:

I've already decided to start a vacation fund, who am I kidding, a Disney fund ;) ,something we always talked about, and if this goes over well, we'll be heading to Disney MUCH more often. Heck, in our opinion, there is so much to do down there, why go anywhere else!!!!

Thanks again!

:welcome: to the DIS!! And welcome back to WDW! pixiedust: Hope you and your family have a great time! Everyone here is very helpful and willing to share their Disney know-how, so ask lots of questions!
