The bag has been listed online yet sold out for several weeks. Somewhere a PP stated that they were told by a CM that none were expected until sometime in April.
Def not time to be checking at 2am yet.

No, I've been checking daily (like a dork!), and it was not listed on there the last few weeks until yesterday, and it's not listed there now (just checked). Thanks for the reminder re: April, though. As much as I'd like to have one, I don't know if I'll actually set the alarm for 2am.

it doesn't show up under the search function on the disneystore website because of it's sold out status, but that is the item. i have it bookmarked, so i can go straight to the item to check if it is back in stock. it saves having to search every time. when they are back in stock, the item will become active in the search function again. having it bookmarked could be the difference between getting one and not getting one when the big moment happens. as you can see, people have been posting reviews of that item as late as 1/31/14. Somewhere else in this thread someone posted a link to the item on the mobile site too. Worth checking out.

Oddly, when I did a search for Dooney yesterday, the bag actually showed up! Of course when I clicked on it, it was sold out and but this morning it was no longer showing in the search. But it did for a while yesterday! I also have the actual link to the bag itself, but was hopeful when it appeared in the search that it meant it was actually coming back!

I was checking the Disney store, ever hopeful for a chance to buy this bag and noticed that one of the pictures for the item shows the interior as being purple. I thought the lining was red? Has that picture of the wrong interior always been there and was I too blinded by the SOLD OUT message to see it? I'm wondering if this means they're changing the interior because of the complaints about the lining and that it will be available for purchase soon! A girl can dream, right?

Oooooooooh! You're right! Looks like maybe they have changed it. You can even see on the semi side view pic that it (being an older pic) has the red lining. The pic of the purple lining is new. I'm hoping you're right!!!

Looks totally different. Was it always called a "carrier bag"? I thought it used to be a "purse". Looks like version 2. changed the shape a bit. Changed the interior to a (likely cheaper) fabric that won't stain things. But, same great price .

I don't know, I got my wife Tiffany necklace for her birthday, so I'm sort of maxed out on buying her stuff now. But, I guess I can hide it for a while.

Good eye Villianous!! This is very exciting news. Why would they change the picture if they were not manufacturing a new bag with purple lining?
Now we have to hope that they have been producing hundreds of them so that they don't sell out at 2am when there were only 4 available!!

OMG! Thanks for posting this! I really want this purse & refuse to pay those obscene Ebay prices. Maybe Disney read all the comments about it not having the purple lining & went "oops!" Someone posted awhile back that they were told more wouldn't be available until April. Maybe they were right. Here's hoping for pixie dust for all of us!

Well here's a surprise: Neither the Disney Store or Parks Merchandise were any help. They didn't even know about the picture changing.

Buuuuuuuut...
ANYONE WHO HAS THE BAG ALREADY: Please read this! The lady at the Dooney and Bourke office says if I give her a style number, she will be able to see if they are still producing the bag. It should be a number that starts with a "D" and would have been on the tags or a card that came with the bag. If you still have the tag please tell us the number!

Yes- it was always a Carrier bag, that's the style of the "purse." And the two pictures that aren't of the purple are exactly the same as before, you can even still see the red lining in the pictures, so I don't see the shape change you're talking about. Maybe I'm just getting to swamped with Midterms to use my eyes properly anymore...

I wonder if for those of us who do have the red lined bag (and no, I have never had an issue with the lining ), with the making of the new purple lined bags, will this make ours worth even more. It would be a real collectors item! Not that I would ever sell mine!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!

Kidding! I do love it and I haven't had any problems with the red either, although I don't really own anything white that would rub on it. It is a HUGE bag though, way bigger than I thought from the pictures. Keep that in mind if you're waiting to buy one.
