Harambe Nights!!!!I am thrilled to hear of this new offering!!! I hope to be able to keep up with any rumors prior to the event and look forward to reviews after some have gone! This is HUGE! An evening event at AK, the opening of a new Lion King show at the NEW Harambe theater, food, drinks, artists, musicians, a street party and possibly one of the first to experience the new nightime show Rivers of Light?!?!?!? (the passholder email supposedly gave a video hint of that!) How amazing and cool!!! Do you enjoy strolling around Epcot and them watching illuminations????? THIS may have something to do with the next best thing

The first is a link to Disney's page about this as an event, the second link seems to be (and i cannot verify its validity, but have no reason to doubt it) an informational piece about how the events details will play out.) Jambo! And magical Disney planning to you!pixiedust:

This is exciting!! I honestly think we might do this. July 26th! If anyone goes before then PLEASE post info!!

This sounds a*m*a*z*i*n*g!!!! I won't be able to make it this summer, but thanks for posting. Can't wait till the new Lion King show is in full swing!!

Oh so very, very tempting. I'd go without hesitation if we hadn't already booked the Sunrise Safari.

It might be fun to do on our "off park" day. I wonder what time it ends. I didn't see that. Also, will Disney transportation be up and running when it's over?

I have the tix in my shopping cart now.....Hestitating to hit SUBMIT b/c no refund...

Do you think it is worth it? The only day it works for me is an off day for us that we have Lunch with the Animal Specialist at SANNA. We don't even have AK on our park tour list this summer.

Is this a tribute show only to be seen this summer or is it the NEW show that will be in this theater when it is up and running?

Someone show me it is worth it! Help! It was either this or Gifts of a Lifetime SCavenger Hunt. Not sure I can swing both.

My trip is in Sept. if it were avail for us, I'd book it!!!

The show is specifically for Harambe Nights. It is not Festival of the Lion King as FOLK is the daily AK show. You will be watching an exclusive show. You can always wait for reviews before you book if you are that hesitant right now.

"Show/Theatrical Experience: From 7:30 – 8:25PM
The centerpiece of Harambe Nights - approx 55 minute theatrical entertainment offers Guests a never-before-seen-way to experience the story of The Lion King
Lighting and scenic elements combine to re-create the immersive setting of the African Savannah.
Celebrity narrators, along with a company of performers draw the Guests into the theatricality of an African ‘story circle.’
The narrative interweaves film excerpts of select classic scenes.
The humor, heart, and stirring emotional power of the film will reach its height, as music of the film is performed by a live orchestra featuring soloists and Harambe’s very own village choir.
Guests will experience anew Simba’s journey to ‘find his place’ as the Lion King, when scenes from the film come to life on the screen and in the theatre all around them!"

I honestly don't know what came over me but I jumped out of bed and bought tickets. We are going to the "world" from June 1-6 and I was planning to head home on Saturday but I have to do this. I don't know if my kids or wife will be into it, but I JUST DONT CARE!

I went to the FOTLK for the first time last year and loved it, and thought I would be out of luck seeing the new theater. Really interested to see this exclusive production. Did I read it correctly but did I see that food and drink are included?

I think this sounds fabulous!! We're staying at AKL and I went ahead and bought tickets for Sat June 14...our last night. I think this will be a great way to end our trip :cloud9:

$119 per person = no thanks

We won't be there this summer, but I hope it stays around for a while because this sounds fantastic! I'm also excited to try the Epcot Wind Down on our next trip. It's exciting that they are trying new things to extend the park days :)

I keep seeing on blogs that May 2, a press release will have some details, so I'll be on the lookout today! Feel free to post if you get to it first. I think you can already all tell, I think this will be a GREAT way to spend an evening with family and friends! (And if guests really do get a preview of rivers of light?!? Well, then double wow! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!)

$120 with African "tastes "sweet and savory" beer, wine, beverages, a special immersive live show featuring an orchestra and celebrity narrator, then more tastes, beverages, a street party with musicians, a DJ, artists, shopping and a "special farewell" by the Tree of Life. Sounds like a very fair price for 3 1/2 hours of entertainment and food! A concert ticket alone anywhere else runs 75-$200 depending on who's performing, and that almost certainly never includes
food/drinks and a family friendly after party.
