Wow - looks like DLP are really *getting with it* and are offering a full board plan as well as half board now

Half Board
You'll be given 1 Meal Voucher per person per night of your stay.

This voucher allows you to enjoy an Unlimited Buffet OR Set Menu (1 Starter, 1 Main Course, 1 Dessert) PLUS 1 Drink (Soft Drink 33cl or Water 50cl) at any of the available restaurants according to the Meal Plan tier chosen.

Full Board
You'll be given 2 Meal Vouchers per person per night of your stay.

For Standard Meal Plans:

The 1st Meal Voucher (recommended for lunch) allows you to enjoy 1 Main Course, 1 Side Order, 1 Dessert and 1 Drink (Soft Drink 33cl or Water 50cl) at a large choice of Counter Service restaurants within the Disney Parks.

The 2nd Meal Voucher (recommended for dinner) allows you to enjoy an Unlimited Buffet OR Set Menu (1 Starter, 1 Main Course, 1 Dessert) PLUS 1 Drink (Soft Drink 33cl or Water 50cl) at any of the available restaurants according to the Meal Plan tier chosen.

For Plus and Premium Meal Plans:

Both Meal Vouchers allow you to enjoy an Unlimited Buffet OR Set Menu (1 Starter, 1 Main Course, 1 Dessert) PLUS 1 Drink (Soft Drink 33cl or Water 50cl) at any of the available restaurants according to the Meal Plan tier chosen, once per voucher.
Note that although, for Standard Meal Plans, the recommended option is to use the 1st Meal Voucher for lunch, this is not a requirement.

You could instead use the 2nd Meal Voucher first, giving you lunch at a Buffet or Table Service restaurant, and enjoy the 1st Meal Voucher for a smaller Counter Service meal later in the day, as long as it is before the parks close (this voucher cannot be redeemed at hotel restaurants).

NOTE:
For guests staying at Disney's Davy Crockett Ranch all Meal Plans also include breakfast, which from 29th March 2012 is not included in the standard package price for this accommodation (it remains to be offered, as standard, at all other Disney Hotels).

It also looks as though Breakfast is not included at the Davy Crockett from the end of March 2012

all the details can be found here over at DLRP Magic.

Hi,

that sounds pretty good. Somewhat like in orlando.

But I'm really not sure about the value: I mean the Meal plan (Standard) costs 37 Euro. The Menu in the Silver Spur Steak House costs including drink about 30 Euro. A menu in the counter service costs about 10-12 Euros. So there is really only a saving of 10% - if you have a shareholders card you get 15% plus having the flexibility to eat what you want.

well surely the full board price of £32 is tremendous value isnt it???

2 decent meals a day for £32??

not the greatest choice of venues i admit, but still, £32!

Shareholders don't get discount at counter service

£32 is around 37 euros just now.

If thats for a half board standard meal, typically those set menu/buffet meals cost around 22 euros per adult or less (add a soft drink if thats included in the full board plan) 3 euros = 25 euros. A counter service meal included in the last free meals deal was to the value of around 11 euros maximum per adult. So thats a total of 36 euros.

So you're losing money really on the full board plan. At the best you'd break even.

It's a step in the right direction but doesn't quite hit the mark for me.

There should be another tier that allows people to have a counter service lunch but also be able to eat in Walts, Cafe Mickey and Blue Lagoon for their evening meal.

The standard full board plan at £32 is a reasonable price, but £35 with the 3 restaurants I've listed would be good and would certainly tempt me.

I never noticed the small print on the plus and premium full board plans - that doesn't make a lot of sense to me to be honest - you're effectively tied to 2 buffet/table service meals per day at certain restaurants on those plans.

Who would choose to do that, and pay for the privilege?
