I'm a newbie to the DisBoards... and I keep reading about "free dining".
Is there anyone who can explain this to me, or direct me to a site/thread that explains it? Thanks... enjoy the boards immensely!!

First of all Welcome to the DisBoards, the free Dinning Program was a promotion Disney did this Fall for people who book a resort and ticket package this fall (Aug 13 thru Sept 30). Unfortunately, the last day to book this package was June 25th.

The dining package includes one counter service meal, one table service meal and one snack daily per person, per night of your package stay. The table service meals include appetizer, entree, dessert and non-alcoholic beverage or one full buffet. The counter service includes entree, dessert and non-alcoholic beverage or a combo meal. The snacks include things like popcorn, ice-cream bar, bag of chips etc... Almost forgot---gratuity is included!!!!

You can get the dining package anytime you stay at WDW (for a fee of course) but it has been offered for free to folks going mid-August til the end of September for the past two years.

It is an amazing deal. I kept my receipts last year and my family saved over $1500 in meals. We even had meals left over that we didn't use. We are counting the days until we go again in September!

Now if you are going to the parks soon, don't dispair that you missed out on the free dining code/discount. There is a 'room only' discount out for fall dates that is still valid. Good for travel dates: 8/19/06-9/30/06.
