The answer is 90 minutes. You would have to wait between 12:15 and 1:45 until you hear the clock chime 7 times, then knowing the next one will chime 2x for 2:00 to be certain of the correct time.

That's how I got my answer. You hear one chime at 12:15am, then
at 2am (1 hour and 45 minutes later), you know the correct time.
I think I added that 15 extra minutes so that when the clock chimes
twice in a row at 2am, the person would know for sure.

But I can see how a person would know the maximum number of times
it would chime before 2am. Nice job. :)

Well when i figured it I did not count the first chime at 12:15 because the question asked how long would you have to wait (after it just told you that you heard the first chime) to know what time it is. Then I counted the 7 chimes starting the first chime at 12:30 until i heard the chimes at 2:00am and got 90 minutes.

Hey everyone...still don't have time to come up with riddles or anything yet, but I'm glad you are all taking care of my thread for me :) I like the clock one, I have heard that before and I did not figure it out. The man walking was good, I will probably tell that to my friends when we hang out and try to stump each other (they will get it I'm sure :rolleyes: )

Keep it going! I will be back soon, as I am not going back with my parents to my home state as planned.

~Mia~ :rolleyes:

ok here is another.. since the thread is disappearing! lol

(1) A headless man had a letter to write;
It was read by a man who had lost his sight.
The dumb repeated it word for word;
And deaf was he who listened and heard.

Solve this riddle.

This again, is quite hard.

(2) A little pool with two layers of wall around it. One white and soft and the other dark and hard, amidst a light brown grassy lawn with an outline of green grass.

What am I?

LOL the answer is so simple!!

OK i thought, if you think those are too hard try this one it is pretty easy..i mean even i got it! LOL

(1) A guy bet his neighbor $100 dollars that his dog could jump higher than a house. Thinking this not possible, the neighbor took the bet and lost.
Why did he lose the bet?

This is the answer to the man with no sight riddle:

The letter in the riddle that is had to write is the letter "O".

It is zero. The man had nothing to write.

Bllind man could read nothing because there was nothing.

The person who was dumb could repeat nothing.

Deaf man listened and heard nothing.

We did this at work last year.

Is the answer to the house and bet question a dog house?

Ok, here's my next riddle.

Arg! Did you HAVE to post that so early? LOL.. it is pretty easy isn't it.

I couldn't help it kaitykatz. I finally knew the answer to one of these! Now the other 2, I'm not sure what the answer is. I will leave the other dis peeps to figure those out.

That was the easy one anyway. The friends alone one is very hard. Nobody in my whole school got it but me and my teacher. :rolleyes: Proves how smart but stupid I can be.

I have a guess, but I don't think it's right. My guess is that one of
his friends is in a wheelchair and can't climb stairs? I know, lame.

kaitykatz7 riddle, riddle 2. This is from before the days of handicapped accessible elevators - he is too short to reach the floor buttons.

Another riddle of this type says that the man takes the elevator down, but always takes the stairs up. He can reach the "1" (bottom floor) button because it is the lowest button, but not the higher ones.
