I will be opening my new game very soon on VMK. The room title will be "Bet a Little - Win a Lot!"

Six players bet one piece of furniture each, the bets are collected and I start spinning my number generator for number pairs. The higher your pair of numbers, the better!!

Number pairs are like this:
1 & 2 = 12
6 & 5 = 65
4 & 3 = 43
and so on. 66 is the highest you can get, like having 2 Aces!!!

Winner takes all the prizes that were bet (except one, which I will use the number generator to select, which will be kept as a house fee)

All bets must be close in value, and unless otherwise decided, able to be placed in the room to show what is up for grabs.

Play as often as you like! Please read the rules in the photo album for more details. (until I feel like posting them all up here)

There is a good chance I will have a CL helping me host the room, and Miakoda can vouch for me that I will not steal the items.

I just realized who you are, your Mia's fiance!Welcome to dis and vmk! :cool1:

Sounds like a fun game I'll be sure to go and check it out (must remember to pick up furniture first lol)

Welcome to DIS

Yep, I'm Mia's fiance :) I'm kinda twisted, but still a nice guy. I'm in the casino industry in real life so it's only natural that I come up with a way to gamble on VMK :)

Uh....I have to say I have mixed feelings about "pay to play" games I've seen
on VMK.

Before I voice my opinion, I want to say that I love to gamble, and blackjack
is my favorite table game. :)

But, I wonder if it's ok to introduce gambling to young kids? I can't imagine
it would be considered ok in those oh-so-wonderful "VMK values".

I have images in my head of young kids gambling and then being upset when
they lose. I would not feel comfortable seeing that happen, myself.

I'm sure many people will love the game, but I get wary when I think of the
others who will then give backlash later and say that you "stole" things from
them. (Kids do that "you stole that" thing a lot, mostly when they think
they accepted a bad trade.)

I want to clarify it compared to the "spin to win" hosted by the VMK hosts.
In those games, it costs the kids nothing to play. If they lose, they aren't
losing anything from their inventory.

I don't mean to be a downer, but I'm looking at the big picture.

I had some of the same thoughts BriarLori had when I read this game. Don't want to be a downer either, but it seems like kids could easily misunderstand this one.

But interestingly enough, this is not a new concept. Yesterday, as I was
looking at the guest rooms, I saw quite a few "pay to play" games, and I
didn't care to see those, either.

Yes i have also seen a few p2p games where the winner takes all, I will try to stop by after a quick Red Light Green Light game lol see u there :wave2:

arent all the games a gamble...lol

pay to play....

okay so if you just title it win alot it would sound better and using the same concept, although omitt the word bet from all instructions and room conversation. you can therefore state it is a pay to play game, every person upon entering pays to play and those items will be used as the prize for the winnner. they can spin the generators and the highest number wins all. if they happen to spin a low number they can pay to play for an additional spin and that item would not be used as a prize.

pay to stay....

a different take on this would be to put up a item of your choosing, from your own inventory, first as the prize! then all could join without paying anything and if they spin low they can pay and those could be added to the prize you have already selected. although you might want everyone to pay with items that are about the same in value. in this way it keeps it fair for those paying to stay....and i bet all low spinners will be paying to stay if more prizes are involved

just a thought but good luck with whatever you do, i will stop by to check it out

Some good points, guess I'll have to refine my rules a little bit. Didn't take into consideration how vindictive kids can be. I'm still going to run it, but I guess it will be more like a "pay to play" rather than betting, or at least I will try to make it "feel" more like a p2p than a bet.
