Hey everyone. A newbie here from SC. We are planning a trip in August (on a limited budget). Have a DS that is 17 and a DD that is 7. It will be her first time. Last time we went my DW was pregnant and DS was 9, so it has been a while. Been a lurker a while, but really have enjoyed this site. Just thought I would say hello.

snowman: We are going Aug 7-11 or 8-12. Not sure which one (will depend on when I can get off work).

Whitaker: Glad to see other SC disney fans on here. I would love to go sometime other than summer, but with 2 kids and a wife that is a teacher, it just is not going to happen any time soon.

Welcome to the boards! Have fun planning your upcoming trip & if you have any questions just ask away... there is always someone on the boards that can help out! :flower3:

Welcome to the boards!!

The USC c/o 1996 here.

I live in Georgia now, but I am teaching my kids to make nasty comments about the ugly G stickers we see everywhere around here.

Go Cocks!

Welcome to the boards. This is best place to find any info I don't know how I did my first trip without all these great people.
We go to at least one South Carolina game every year all the way from NJ my father in law lives in Florence and he got us yankees addicted!
Have a great trip in August. Stay away from the souvenirs that's is what killed my budget on our last trip (mind you I was in Disney and ny DH was in SC at a Gamecocks game!)
:yay:

Welcome! My dad's family is from SC, in Sumter County. My grandmother lived in a very small town on a dirt road called Wedgefield. You will love these boards. I have been on the for around 3 years and even though I don't get on as much as I would like they are very addicting! Have a great time planning and don't be shy about sharing any info you have for us! :wave2:

I am a 1995 grad of the business school and a 1998 grad of the law school. It is good that you are raising your children well. :thumbsup2

Hope you enjoy your trip to Disney . . . I am enjoying the planning so far (just not looking forward to the paying).

This place is definitely addictive. It is also incredibly informative!!! As for that little town, we drive past Wedgefield on our trips to the beach from Columbia. It is just a little ways off 378 right? Take it easy and have a great trip to Disney!

Welcome!!!!

Graduate of USC Engineering School 1981 here. What part of SC are you from? We are in Oconee County, which is very pretty except for being so close to that nameless place (Thanks Coach Horn).

We are pretty much in the same boat as you with three boys and a DW who teaches Middle School, so we normally have to go during the summer months also, plus we can't interfere with football season either. We will be at WDW in early July this year. Last year we were there for our then DS10s first trip. The last time we were there she was pregnant with him so it had been a while for us also. We plan to be back more often from here on out.

Have fun planning your trip and as others have said, feel free to asks lots of questions on here for ideas and suggestions. There are lots of helpful people willing to help.

We are in Columbia so football season is certainly out of the question. :goodvibes Hopefully, this year there will actually be reason to stick around through the whole season. We are certainly looking forward to our trip in August (of course it is before they start the free dining, but maybe a discount code will come along later). We do not plan to tell my DD for awhile because I am not sure she will be able to concentrate the rest of the school year and the first part of the summer would be miserable. :rotfl:
