New free dining offer yeaaah

More of a picking up tickets, then cancelling reservation thing.

Don't want to know how that is possible, but I thought your vacation would be paid in full prior to arrival - at least ours would be, so I can't imagine how anyone could get out of this ahead.

how does the free dining work for those of us who are dvc members? i have a 2bd,and 4 studios booked for old key west in december 5-11th. how can we get in on the free dining or is it even avail for us? we will be buying or tickets before we get there. any help would be great.

our perc is the ability to buy the DP w/o need to purchase a ticket along with it, as many of us have APs or non-expiry tix.

jik ur not aware, there is a DVC discount on the AP.

After getting free dining for my dates 12/17/11 - 12/27/11 (actually leaving on the 27th) I received a PIN in the mail today for 30% off of Animal Kingdom or Wilderness Lodge (where I'm staying). The dates are 12/1/11 - 12/22/2011.

I think I will frame it because I won't ever get one again.

Thanks everyone for the updates I have free dining the 29 November to the 10 December and then the 17 dec to the 31dec just have to book my last 5 nights hopefully I might have a pin when I call and just so you know for any Canadians I am Australian and I booked free dining grin

Everyone can book free dining (outside of the blackout dates) between now and March 31st, 2012.

Cancellation penalty is only $200. However, now no refunds will be issued until all travel documents are returned. And we now have to note split stay reservations saying that the guest is aware that the tickets cannot be picked up before the start package.

Rachelt- could you possibly give us some insight to the Aug/ Sept 2012 dining issue. I spoke with several cms yesterday and they all said it wasn't valid for Americans. Now people are saying cms are saying it is okay. Is it worth another call in the am?

Technically, it isn't. The cm that books it could get in trouble. We'll probably get an advisory in a couple of days to remind us that they must have a Canadian address. This happened with a previous room only discount. Will Disney take it away if you have it booked? While they could, they won't.

I have no doubt that an offer will come out for domestic FD for late summer/early fall though. They told us it would not come out again for August/September this year. Because they said the offer that had to be booked by December, and they said it was the last chance. That we legally could not offer it for those dates again. The Memories package is technically a different offer.

I will admit that I will not book it for a domestic guest though. As much as I love making guests happy, I love having that job and being able to create magic a little bit more.

In regards to the Canada fd offer most of us made the reservation thru the link that was posted on here without ever realizing it was not a US offer. It was so weird because it auto-populated all my address info. Very strange .... I wonder if that link is still working?

Thanks! I wouldn't worry about it. I don't think that link was technically kosher according to posting guidelines though. It's not likely that they'll take the discount away from you. Worked 12 again today, and doing 12 again tomorrow. I love overtime though.

I had to call today to cancel a reservation ... booked an ap one online so had to cancel the non-discount one I'd made months ago .... anyway I was hoping I'd get to talk to you but instead I got a very nice man .... did the survey .... all 5s!!! I honestly don't follow, because the only way I can read between the lines here doesn't seem possible. Are you maybe talking about KTTW tickets versus splitting out early park tickets?

A large part of the reason we split our stay 1 day early (still checking at a resort 10/1) was the ability to do pick up early park tickets. We can't really use a day on check-out on the 9th, since we'll be leaving early to drive home. We know dining isn't covered. Worst case, we hang at DTD or resort pool, but we are planning on going through CF's guidance with GRO.
