New free dining offer yeaaah

I was told you will have to produce your Canadian passport/ID at check in for proof of residency. This is not on disney.com it is on disney.ca. Just like we cannot book the UK offers.

See. That's what I was worried about. :( I would hate to see people posting upset comments about getting down to Disney only to be turned away or charged more because they are not from Canada. :sad2:

I know that Disney asks to see certain discount membership cards if one is being used at booking (AAA).

That is my thought as well. We REALLY REALLY REALLY want to go in Sept. and want FD if we can get it. I just can't bring myself to book using the link. Too many factors that could go wrong along with being dishonest.

Thank you Danny25. My family and I truly appreciate the heads up on the FD. I called Disney World at exactly 7:00 a.m. their time, waited on hold for 2 hours and was the first person to add free dining with a CM that started her shift at 9:00 a.m. We were able to book it for our entire Grand Gathering and it saved 25 people the cost of food. :jumping1::jumping1:

I bet we will get it next. Always do.

Being dishonest wouldn't be the issue for me since Disney has allowed access to the site. It's not really being dishonest because it doesn't say specifically that it is for Canadian residents only. My issue would be me getting stuck using spending money at check in because I can't show that I am from Canada. :sad2: I would be so mad at myself.

Oh well. This loophole has allowed me to do one thing though. I can accurately price my trip for next year by using it.

10 Days/9 nights - September 14 - 23, 2012
Disney's All Star Movies Resort
4 guests (2 Adults, DD17, DS9)
Add a connecting room on a seperate reservation
Park Hopper No Waterpark and More option
Rental Car with Alamo added
(Free Dining Promo added)
(Room Only Promo added)
-----------------------------------------
Total for the whole thing (without the airfare added on) $3945

Airfare should be near $1000 for the 4 of us round trip. Hopefully less. :)

$5000 total trip cost isn't too bad! :)

I just went to http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/. Then I clicked on Special Offers and clicked on the second offer that shows. On that page it offers FD on dates in September 2012. I am not on the Canadian site. I am on the site that is showing my countdown clock and reservations.

Disney needs to get it's act together if they are now saying it's only for Canada.

Either that or I am going crazy...........well now..........:cool1::lmao:

I just looked again and the dates are still there but the booking deadline is now Decmber 17th and I swear it was October just a bit ago.

Calgon! Take me away! ;)

Where are you staying?

It sounds like, yes, your savings should have been more. Provided, that is, that you weren't already applying a discount to your package (like one of the PIN codes or other package deals that Disney was offering). You can't stack discounts.

If you already had a discount code it won't be as much. I had to drop the code for the discounted room and then they added the free dining to it. I saved about 300.00. It all depends on what discounts you already had.

Can you send the link when you are on the page with the dates? I just get to the main page with your link. It would be lovely if they would just add the dates.

While on the main page, click special offers and click on the second offer that comes up.

They may want it to be for Canada only, but it comes up on my page over and over and I know I am going through the USA site. No .ca or .uk at the end.

I think the CA at the end of the link means Canada. It also says US$XXX unlike the regular site. It is weird it is pulling up for you in the US. Maybe a sign they could be merging the two? Hey, I can hope, right?:yay:

OMG... after being on hold for 45 minutes, got things changed. Saved $927.68 We cannot believe that. We had deluxe dining and kept that the same and still saved almost $1000. I am almost in tears.
