New free dining offer yeaaah

Question…
If I am scheduled to arrive on October 9, and the FD end date is October 8, would Disney allow me to extend my package and pay for a day early? I am sure they would, but the big catch would be that I won’t be actually checking in the resort until the next day. Has anyone tried this?

I have done the math, and will still be saving several hundred dollars despite eating the cost of a night I won’t be staying there.
Please see post #666 for the Split Stay FD Guidelines.

I'm sorry, but I have to say, Disney Visa is known for NOT contacting their card holders when a discount or promo is going on. I have had a Disney Visa for years and have never recieved an email from them for a DV offer that had not already gone out to the general public. On some promos I have never recieved a email or alert at all. I have always gotten the DV codes here on the Dis long before Disney Visa themselves. And really, you will find this is true for most of the DV holders around here. The only reason we keep this card it to get a jump on deals like this, if they aren't going to give it to DV holders first anymore, there won't be much point in us keeping this card.

Huh, weird.

I have the FD promo emails from 2009 and back in my inbox (still...I'm an email packrat). All from the day prior...maybe some setting in my account?

Like I said..weird.

OH so FD wouldnt cover the whole week of Nov 1-11th? That stinks I thought I'd be covered :( darn have to rethink the whole trip now

Sorry i was just going by what you wrote.. and have not paid attention to the dates, other than those related to my stay:rotfl:
so if you arrive during the fd period then you get it for your whole stay. If fd starts after you arrive.. then you need 2 seperate nreservations.

Can't do it.

You have to check in on your check in date or Disney won't (usually..there are extenuating circumstances like weather, etc) hold your room for you.

You are one of the priviledged few ;-) Lol! No, really, there are a huge amount of DV disers on here who NEVER get emails or promo in from Chase/Disney Visa. I have gone in and checked my settings and even called and made sure they have my email correctly. It's frustrating.

Please see post #666 for the FD guidelines.

based on that post(666)I should be fine but when I posted to double check that someone replyed I would have to make 2 seperate ressies so now I'm confused.
I am trying to go Nov 1-11 based on the assumed dates of the FD promo FD ends Nov5th, since I check in on the 1st I should be covered through the 11th but I keep reading about blackout dates for Jersey week so wasnt sure if that ment that rule does not always apply and I might not have it the whole trip?

How long have you had your card? I've had ours for a LONG time...maybe some sort of legacy setting that's disappeared?

I also "opt in" to all their partner spam, etc. Crazy, I know.

I don't know....all I know is I always seem to get 'em. I even got one for the current DisneyLAND promo..

But I'll be darned if I can get a PIN code.

Thanks for the info...I am covered for now...hopefully (for my sake) the dates don't change in the wrong direction

Count me in. I have had DV for years and never gotten anything from them. I have been with them from the beginning when they only had the card with Mickey on it. I now have Tinkerbell, maybe she could send some pixie dust this way, lol. :tinker:

Sorry if this this is a repost, but if I am correct after reading your post that the difference in the cost of upgrading from QS to deluxe (staying at a value resort) dinning, would be $44.00 per adult and $10.00 per child per day.Of course this is if their check in day is still one of the ones that was from the first post. They already are booked at a value for 6 nights,7 days and already have upgraded to the deluxe dinning but they should only have to pay the difference between QS and deluxe if the free dinning is during their stay.Any help would be great.Thanks.

Thanks, but post #666 did not answer my question at all.
I am asking about paying for a room for a night that I won't be there to check in for in order to get the FD

Another poster answered your question a couple of posts ago. If you do not physically check-in, Disney will not hold the room for you. Your reservation will be cancelled. Unfortunately, your plan will not work.

Um, no, you are correct, that wasn't included in the FD guidelines :-)

And, no, your scenario is definitley not possible. Sorry.

You would have to do a split stay.

Nope. You are fine. If these dates are correct and you check in by November 1, your entire stay will include the FD discount, up to 14 nights.

Ditto...ours had the mickey logo originally (now the castle).

All the emails come from "Disney Rewards"...though I think the email addy has changed a bunch of times over the years.

I wonder why I get them and others don't? I just always assumed EVERYONE got them...SOME other people must get them, I'd assume, or how would the codes get out?

Well, if I see one tonight, I'll be sure to post.

SIAP/Asked.

I saw the difference b/t upgrading from free QSD to DDP. Does anyone have a number for the difference per day per person from QSD to the regular dining? We are staying at ASM in the family suites and are trying to decide whether to stay there and upgrade the dining or upgrade the resort and just do regular dining. We'd be upgrading to a deluxe villa for the extra living areas (traveling with 4 adults and an almost 2 year old).

TIA :)
