New free dining offer yeaaah

So the only way we knew FD was coming in the past was Visa card holder discount came first?

It just doesn't seem right that we would have no information about the offer. I remember how the Dis usually has a heads up post in the scrolling headlines on the home page.

Did this happen with the August offer?
No, I wouldn't say that. It's, generally, been that there is a leak that FD is coming (sources vary - Mousesavers, The Dis, other TA blogs and sites) and Disney Visa holders usually got the FD discount/promo code 3 days before the general public.

I asked a question way early in this thread and dont think i was very clear about what i was planning to do. I am already booked oct 9-15th. If in fact FD comes out tomorrow i was planning to add Wed Oct 5th-8th to my already reservation of 9-15 so that would put us oct 5th-15th with free dining so my question is..Will I have to pay the new price for the park tickets I add or will i still get the old price from when i booked before prices went up. Hope that makes more sense. Thanks

This is my thinking as well. I hope for it to be Friday-Thursday dates instead. Then I wouldn't have to change my checkin date on Dec. 10 to a room only. We'll see either way tomorrow.

I'm kinda hoping for the Fri-Thurs as well. I've dealt with the fact we might have to stay offsite, but if the offer is Fri-Thurs I really won't have to change anything except get a room only for Thurs the 20th. I just feel like I let my family down by choosing the dates I did, but I can't help that that is the only time we can go because of my job. UGH....why, oh why, do my dates have to be blacked out?

Also...why wouldn't Disney give the TAs a heads up? Wouldn't you want to have more staff on hand during the initial days of a FD offer?

Too many TA's have come onto boards telling the Disney fanbase about offers before they were supposed to....

My TA is saying these dates are incorrect. Plan to check in Oct 7 she says I will have to check in Oct 6 for free dining to apply. Guess we'll know for sure tomorrow

You will pay the price of the tickets that you booked with. The tickets have gone up but it don't really effect package prices until 2012.

Probably. I guess that's why many boards and blogs link directly to this thread. They don't want to be left out of the "rumor" but they don't want to get in trouble with confirming it.

My f5 key literally popped off my laptop this morning.....and a bit later so did the "E" key (go figure that last one).

Luckily, they popped back on..but, yeah....definitely getting a workout today.

So I'm sitting thinking about all these posts, about we "normally" hear something here on the Dis about these types of offers........

The mods are USUALLY super fast about "MOVING" threads - especially rumor ones, to the rumor board....this one is still on the resorts....

Just saying,

So I guess that is a good sign (fingers crossed)

hmm didnt know that. Maybe going through them would have been easier! :lmao: Trying to see if I can squeeze in an October trip with FD :goodvibes

Maybe....though you won't get anything sooner than tomorrow.

And the Disney phone lines open at 7 AM, the web site MIGHT go live around 6 AM.....

If you're looking for quick access, I'm not sure the TA will get you anything faster. But then, maybe your TA is in the office earlier than mine (around 9 AM). :)
