Great job!! :)

Fun?!?! Isn't that part of it Barb?

Did you happen to see the Beauty and the
Beast GWP set on pg 3? That one just got
the Lumiere you sent inserted! I went hog
wild getting the rest of those pins off lanyards
on my last trip to DLR... but found when I
went to frame them that I had the wrong
Lumiere! Doh! But, thanks to you, I now have
the right one!

I should have more after the long weekend!
I'm making an attempt to not look at school
books ALL weekend - I want to enjoy myself!

Wow! Keep those pictues coming!

My <i>jealousy</i> know no bounds!

Heather,
Do your frames have glass on them???

Are some of them shadowboxes???

What are the pins "mounted" or "stuck" on?

I get so discouraged---I started framing last year, and then quit, and I have pins everywhere---and frames too, LOL!!

I need a little more direction!

Yes, there is glass in ALL my frames,
some ARE box frames, but not many
as they get pricy...

I use either cardboard for the backing
or sometimes foam board... and occasionally
just matte board... I cover the cardboard
or matte board with something else, like
scrapbooking pages... or whatever background
that would make it interesting!

If a pin is 3-d or something special, I have
to sometimes make a regular frame a
small box frame by making a box insert
out of matte board...

You want to look for frames that have staples
(or some easy to open and reclose clips)
to close them in the back and you don't
want anything like a normal portrait frame
with those silly slide in from one end backings
that have the stand attached to them...
you need a deeper frame to begin with...
and wood is always easiest to work with...
plastic or other synthetics get tricky (unless
they are box frames, then anything goes!

I plan to get a how to portion up on the site
soon... Nat has a bit on his site, but since
I kind of jimmy rig my frames, I need the
ability to show pictures and stuff to you...
so I'll be doing that next! Probably before
my next set of frames! I'll post again when
I do that!

matte board is the stuff they use to matte
pictures with... only I buy mine in large
28 X 40 sheets of it from a place called
Aaron Brothers for about $11.00 a sheet!
Michaels and other places also carry it in
their framing depts but it is considerably
more expensive!
Aaron Bros has a good color selection!
You just have to be prepared to use ALOT
of the same color when you buy it in
THAT large of a sheet! I usually get black
and the very basic primary colors mostly...

Also, one thing I use for backgrounds in
small frames are sheets of paper from
paper sample books... you can see if your
local print shop has old books laying around.
Usually their print suppliers will bring them
updated samples once to twice a year...
you could ask what they do with old books
then have a nice variety of backgrounds...
(usually these just get tossed out... however
at my shop, I get them all and take them home!)

Also, if you have a Kelly Paper store OR
an xpedx paper store near you they will also
have sample books there.

Have fun and if you have any other ??'s
I'm always willing to help!

That's what happens when Obi Wan Pinobi doesn't have anything to do.
