New Format.. thoughts or speculation

Todd, I 100% agree. That is my point. I hate when people complain yet do nothing to participate.

Honestly, I don't know how the team has been able to do this week after week. They give up an entire day to get together and sit at the same table in the same room for an entire afternoon to give us a show. I don't know any other podcast that has this many podcasters that follows this format. Almost every single one of them meet virtually, not physically.

I'm sure they love to be together, and are fantastic friends, and look forward to doing this. I wish I had a group of friends so close, and so willing and able to do this. The logistics of it are daunting, though.

I wonder if the change in format will mean recording from their homes, to give the team more free time to work at their day jobs and be with their burgeoning families?

Everyone who listens to the podcast is a "Cool Kid".

Thank you !! :thumbsup2

I have been stumped for quite some time on how to say
exactly this.

I am a cool kid (just quiet).
I talk to y'all in my head all day.... can you hear me??

as for speculations...
It feels like a cool gift is being prepared.
A present, if you will.

Looking forward to unwrapping it in January.

Sounds like the new format will help return some balance
into Pete's life and some new adventures.
:dance3:

Balance and Adventures are in my New Year's resolutions.

Wishing the Pod People (as they are called in my house)

Happy Holidays :santa:

Smooth Transitions :wizard:

Continued Health :lovestruc

and I am looking forward to seeing you all at DAP :yay:

The new format will be us only using DISboards abbreviations when talking about Disney related things.

There will be no more laughter. We will instead say "LOL".

Start studying. :lmao:

DW, 2DS’s and I, will be staying at POR and using ME, our LOS is in question. Should it be 7 or OTOH 9 nights would be nice. We are considering MYW passes with PH or AP’s but have not decided on a return trip. We made ADR’s to HDDR, CM’s, CG, and trying to figure out a FDP for our DHS day. We plan on going to AK and seeing ITTBAB but IMNSHO it’s not very good. I much prefer FTLK, this whole thing may be TMI and a little OT but, I thought I would share.

BTW, I think this new format may just work. LOL ;)

I thought the new format was just the bleachers he is having installed in the peanut gallery, And I can't wait for the snack counter and vending machines. :cool1: I think the "intern" should walk around taking drink orders.
Seriously, I am looking forward to the new things to come!!!

ahhh..........wow.......OK..........a disbelieving admiral says to spock after kirk gets him out of a big jam" i see what a starship can do with the right man at the helm" there will definitely be a change in the dynamic......dont loose the "edginess"........it will most likely be a rolling change with lots of input..........

Things need to change/grow/adapt in order to survive. Its natural selection. I trust the decisions that have been made will be at least on par (if not better) with the product that is provided for us now.

I have visions of the whole Podcast team trying to outrun predators to see who will make it onto the new format shows :rotfl:

Seriously I'm sure what ever they decide will be good :thumbsup2 It may take a bit of time to get used to but we'll look back and wonder why we worried about the change :grouphug:

I can't wait to see what they do - it will brighten up the usually dreary new year :dance3: :yay:

I'm excited for a new format. I like the current format but if you don't try something new now and again you will never know if you can improve. I am not averse to change, if I were I sure picked the wrong career.

Whatever it is there will be some initial resistance as some people are not good with change. There were people who voiced similar opinions after Bob's death but in time the "new" way becomes the accepted way. Just look at the fallout that happens when Yahoo! or Facebook change the way something works on their homepage. There is initial panic and requests for the changes to be rolled back. After a couple of days the new way becomes accepted. I think the same happened last time the podcast changed and will happen this time.

If we weren't willing to try new things and experiment we would still be cowering in the corner of a cave somewhere afraid of fire.

I think that being together is part of the dynamic but having a skype setup like what Leo does on TWiT would be cool as a backup. Not only for everyone when they can't get together but for even one member who is sick or can't be there that week. The way Leo handles the video skype on all the TWiT shoes everyone can see and hear everyone else so the dynamic of the room isn't all that different.

Of course Corey might be more willing to allow a video feed either live or edited for download...just sayin' :rolleyes1

Like at Hooters?

We're changing to a show-a-day format?!?

Wow! It's about time!

;)

:lmao:

LOL to Corey, Todd, & Lori's posts.

Personally, I would not enjoy them recording via Skype or individual houses. I like the fact that they are in a room bouncing off of each other. That can't be recreated via phone or otherwise. The idea of them using Skype to phone in and participate when they're sick is interesting, but like I tell my students, if you are sick, you ARE sick. I rather you rest than delay getting better by working. Just my two cents.

I think you should do something like oprah's format, you know "look under your chair, you get a podcast cruise, and you get a podcast cruise, but not you, you don't get a podcast cruise", and if I remember correctly, didn't Pete say he was going to stay on the show, just not as host, or maybe I am thinking of something else. But I am a little weird about not having a roundtable to listen to while I am studying, I don't do well with change. )=
