New Format.. thoughts or speculation

I have to strongly disagree with you on this one. I personally think Jim Hill is one of the best, most relevant Disney bloggers on the net right now. His information is usually spot on, and I think he offers a perspective that's fresh and informative. I'm a big fan of his :)

Pete

I agree. I really like Jim and while sometimes I think he gets the definite plans and rumors a little mixed up he always seems to have a clear view of the company.

And ushers....

"Real movie theater ushers"

Where's that quote from?

Anyone know?
I just had a thought trigger in my head. Was it something Walt Disney said when describing either the theater experience for Fantasia or Main Street USA?

I read Michael Barrier's biography of Walt Disney "The Animated Man", and I remember in the discussion of the 1940 film Fantasia Walt Disney was describing how he wanted the theater experience to be for Fantasia. It was supposed to be more like a theater experience with reserved seats, programs, and maybe "real movie theater ushers".

The other place I thought this quote might appear was in Walt Disney's description of the entrance to the Magic Kingdom. It was supposed to open up like a movie theater. You enter through the side entrances, the popcorn cart is right there when you enter, and maybe the ticket takers would be like "real movie theater ushers"?

Those were my two thoughts.

i suppose that i may be basing my opinion on limited information........however if you look at the sehlinger guide, sorry at work and cant look, maybe 06 or 07 ?........there was a lot of speculation that never came to fruition. i agree history wise he is a known commodity but in the rumor mill he seems no better than us. no defamation intended...................:grouphug:...............oh......by the way..........good luck.......i knew a fellow once was sitting around the campfire with his buddies........and he started pushing himself back from the fire a little at a time till he was pretty far away.........they just looked and kept on with the conversation............then all the sudden he pulled himself back in close...........they said, whats the matter with you..............he said......aw nuthin.........i just missed the warmth......

I am soooo pathetic. I googled this and it came back with one link. To show me this thread. :sad2:

It rings a bell - just not loud enough for me to tell you exactly what!

I'm sorry this has caused anyone to research the origin.

I was just being a goof.

It comes from the show John and I quote most often...Will and Grace.

There is an episode that revolves around a "Sound of Music" sing along.

Karen is drinking out of a flask and throws it over the theater balcony and it hits someone "and she is steaned which is appropriate as she is dressed as a bright copper kettle"..

Later in the show the discussion comes around to the fact that ushers are looking for them.

In a very serious tone, Karen says "real movie thater ushers" as if they were being chased armed guards.

We think this is one of the funniest episides and have kept in on our TiVo since 2006.

I think we have seen it dozens of times.

Again....I am sorry if this caused anyone any inconvenience.

also never was a big Will and Grace fan. i did however think Sean Hayes did a good job in The Bucket List.

I simply found it funny that the ONLY google result took me right back to where I started. :sad2: It's not often I have that happen

If you are pathetic, then so am I!
I did the same thing, but did not post it here in an attempt to be a little less pathetic.

I do remember it from Will & Grace.

At least you got a response. When I googled it, nothing came up. Leave it to Kevin to stump Google.
