I was surprised that a thread has not been started yet about the new format of the show. So... I thought I would start.

To be honest I was happy to hear of a new format for the show, now don't get me wrong I really enjoy listening and think everyone really clicks and I am still even catching up on some of the old shows. But, after a few years of the same format, it is about time that it is made new again. I'm happy it sounds like the team will remain intact.

I for one would love to hear some more interviews and maybe guests come on the show to get more of an "insiders" type feel for whats going on in and around Disney property.

I would like to hear some more rumors and thoughts from the team of possible upcoming attractions or changes.

Just some thoughts, anyone else...

I'm not opposed to change, but I'm not sure how changing the format of the show could make it better. Time will tell, I suppose.

I will say that while whatever format they do, i will give it at least a try, be careful. Your first shows didnt go so well because of format. Then you got this cozy roundtable figured out. As long as we still get fun banter, and friendly stuff liek that on the show, i think it will be fine.

Personally, I don't deal well with change. It's just not in my personality. I hope they keep the roundtable format and chatting. It really is what makes the show great kinda like The View. I guess that would make Pete Whoopie? Lol

Hey podcast crew, one thing that I'm constantly doing is collecting data, doing needs assessments, etc. Have you guys thought of putting up a small survey on the podcast page asking for feedback and using it for the new format?

This all is contingent on what the meaning of "new format" is. I am perfectly willing to wait and not speculate. There is nothing like building op your expectations. I do not want to build up a preconception. I want my impression to happen on a clean canvas. (That is for Corey, the artist! Pun intended) :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I have faith that the podcast team aren't going to change the format unless they believe it's for the better. I'm sure they know well enough by now what works and what doesn't.

Change is a scary thing but as long as the great rapport and humour is still in the show, that's the most important thing IMO.

I am willing to accept whatever change could happen, but I am not creative or imaginative enough to guess what it might be.

After Bob died, Pete said the show would change, that it would not be the same with Bob. I thought that meant a different format. But other than adding new people, the show seemed pretty much the same to me.

Best wishes and good luck to the creative team.

The Podcast-like all things Disney must "Keep Moving Forward".

Everyone will have changes that they like, changes that they don't like and changes that they will start out not liking but learn to love.

I like good changes. I don't like bad changes. :)

I think the only thing I've ever not liked on the podcast was when someone read a list - birthdays, the cost of a bunch of items in a store - any list. No reflection on the person doing the reading, it just bores me.

And the Disneyland show, though I never got all the way through it.

By far, my favorite thing is Kevin's restaurant reviews.

I can honestly say that this has been a long time coming in regards to the new format. Pete said after Bob passed away that he was going to make changes to the format of the podcast. I though by adding Kathy and Teressa and having Walter on more often was the changes he was planning but now I am not so sure.

Change taking this long in my opinion will definitely be for the best.

The DisUnplugged Podcast is, in my opinion, the best Disney fan podcast out there. Since Pete made his announcement, I've thought about why this is my favorite podcast. It's the Podcast Crew. The affection they have for each other and their fans makes this podcast truly unique from the others. As long as Cory, Julie, Ferris, Kevin, John, Theresa, Kathy, Walter, Pete, Max (both the intern and pup versions) remain, I know I'll continue to enjoy it no matter what the format is because I'm confident the Podcast Crew put serious thought into the change.

Shortly after Bob passed and Pete installed all the new equipment, I believe he mentioned the possibility of taking live phone calls. Could this be part of the new format?

Merry Mousketeer.

I was listening to Dis Radio after I posted and thought Pete has alway said he wanted to do more with Dis Radio. It is always great to hear his voice on Dis Radio as well, maybe some kind of show on there would be fun.

Maybe something where we can get updates but not have to wait a whole week for reaction to news.:thumbsup2

Just thinking out loud.

Oh my. Are we going to speculate until January?

Personally, I'm with Nikki, I don't do change well and I love the Roundtable and "View" feeling of the show, a very good comparison BTW, The Disney View. I love Rapid Fire, the news, ect...I love the banter, discussion, chit chat. I can't help it, I'm dreading the change already. That's a Taurus for you. :teeth:

Personally, I'm glad they haven't moved to live-call shows. I've heard live-calls done on other shows; it really slows things down, and half the time is spent talking about non-Disney or "inside" stuff. The e-mail/voicemail format is a good way to ensure quality conversation/questions.

I'm generally a fan of, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

I'm sure whatever it is will be great.
Looking forward to seeing how it changes :thumbsup2

How many listeners are there weekly? Must be a few thousand at least!

If Kathy says we will like it, I trust her. I am one of her peeps after all. :lmao:

Kim

I second that. :thumbsup2

In regards to the live calls, I thought this was something that was done already? There have been a few call-in shows already. I thought those were always fun and entertaining. I also love the FB to FB shows.

Personally, I know that there are people here on the boards that complain about the crew "favoring" or focusing on "the cool kids," but I think that this is a way to really connect with the fans. There's absolutely nothing wrong with having opportunities here and there for fans to call in or write in and ask non-Disney questions/bring up topics. I also like how specific listeners are mentioned on the show. Again, this brings the fans closer to the show and crew. I have not seen anyone favored, so to speak, and honestly those who have complained about this aspect of the show are those who I have either never seen post here or rarely do. If you don't participate, how can you become more involved?

Things need to change/grow/adapt in order to survive. Its natural selection. I trust the decisions that have been made will be at least on par (if not better) with the product that is provided for us now.

I am a person that used to hate change. Trust me I think you will like the change. :)

Can we say taunt?

I second that. :thumbsup2

The people that post on the boards, send in e-mails, and/or are active on Facebook are just that 'active'. If the team has no clue as to who you are, how do you expect to be called out or acknowledged? Everyone who listens to the podcast is a "Cool Kid".

I agree that everyone that listens to the Podcast is cool!!! I love meeting listeners in the park or at meets. If you ever get the chance and the Podcast team is there please introduce yourself.
