WARNING FROM POLICE THIS APPLIES TO BOTH WOMEN AND MEN

BEWARE OF PAPER ON THE BACK WINDOW OF YOUR VEHICLE--
NEW WAY TO DO CARJACKINGS (NOT A JOKE)'

Heads up everyone! Please, keep this circulating.. You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside. You
start the engine and shift into Reverse.

When you look into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle
of the rear window. So, you shift into Park, unlock your doors, and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or
whatever it is) that is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car, that is when the carjackers appear out
of nowhere, jump into your car and take off. They practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.

And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car.

So now the carjacker has your car, your home address, your money, and your keys. Your home and your whole identity are
now compromised!

BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.

If you see a piece of paper stuck to your back window, just drive away. Remove the paper later. And be thankful that you
read this e-mail. I hope you will forward this to friends and family, especially to women. A purse contains all kinds of
personal information and identification documents, and you certainly do NOT want this to fall into the wrong hands.

Please keep this going and tell all your friends

aw man. I was just about to post the snopes link but you guys beat me to it

Snopes never fails. It's funny how people believe anything that is posted on the internet :)

THis is a tall tale or spam sandwich. Take your pick..:rotfl:

I don't think it necessarily means people will believe anything posted on the internet (I know there are some that will!) But this could be a very believable story. My niece had something very similar happen to her!!!! Her ex boy friend put a piece of paper when she was at the mall under her wiper it was small so she didn't notice it till she actually got in the car. Her getting in the car putting her purse down and getting out gave him enough time to jump out of his friends car and start screaming at her about how she was a "dirty slut!!" and other nice things.

mmmm spam....nom nom nom

Yes my mom called me just last week about Mars being the size of the moon.
First thing I asked was where she heard about it. She said it was an email from a friend. I stopped her right there and asked her if she had snopped it yet.
She said it was from so and so she thought it had to be true.

I asked her did her friend actually type it out or did it look like she was passing it along. My mom thought for a moment and was like I guess I need to snope everything from now on...:lmao:

We had a coworker that would send out those type of emails and I was always quick to follow up with snope links. Funny thing is she stopped sending them to me but STILL sends them to everyone else. Guess she didnt like hearing she was wrong. lol

your mom sounds like my mom. She got one about the lottery in England, she could be a winner!!! My brother kept telling her it was a scam and she didn't believe him. I get her on the phone and ask "did you sign up for it when you were there?" Long silence. I nicely told her that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Funny thing is, she got in the mail, not email. I had her take it to the post office.

My uncle is a forwarder also. He no longer forwards those on to me after giving him the snopes link afterwards. Now I get novenas.

You guys are too quick! I knew it was fake, too, since I read snopes for the fun of it every few weeks.

But this could be a very believable story...
Therein lies the reason that Urban Legends will go on and on... the notion that they "could" be true or contain a "kernel" of truth!

Here's a lesson from Folklore 101: Anytime you read something that's generically stated as being from "The Police" along with an urgent plea to pass it on to all of your loved ones for their safety... odds are 99% certain that it's bogus!

My 75 year old aunt has learned how to use a computer in the last couple of years, and she loves to forward stuff. Most of the time I don't say anything about it, but she sent one out to everybody about "A Tree in Africa" with all of these intricate carvings all over it....

She was so impressed with it, she even added a little note about how it reminded her of her grandfather's whittling. I debated about it, but finally decided to save her further embarrassment and tell her it was actually the Tree of Life in AK! Bless her heart!

She also sends me lots of warnings like this one. I had joined a community organization a couple of years ago, and this one woman kept sending out emails like this. She always added that her dad was a retired cop, so he was "in the know." I had my fill when she sent out the thing about gang members chasing down and killing anyone who bright-lighted them! I had peole telling me this when I was in college (before I knew what the internet was), and it was ridiculous then! She got very mad when I told her it wasn't true, but at least she took me off her email list!
