Val & I just closed on our new Florida home today! We're about 2 miles north of the Castle and expect that we will be able to see fireworks from our front porch.

NICE! Trying to figure out where to buy in Florida is tough. I was looking at a second house in Lake Wales of St. Cloud. Maybe I need to look closer to MK for that firework view.

Thanks all. It was an interesting process. I had not bought a house in 30 years so everything was a bit new to me.

We didn't rush to buy, and ultimately decided to build, so the whole thing took just about a year. That's from the day we first contacted a realtor till the day we closed. Even at that, we had spent time during a couple of Disney trips checking out various neighborhoods before we contacted an agent.

CONGRATS! DH and I hope to do the same in a few years. We have decided that we will rent an apartment for a year or so. That way we can get to know the area and then decide where to buy. Enjoy your new home and especially being so close to WDW!

Seriously considering it. Certainly not for the pay, but for the perks. It would be nice not to have to buy AP's. And it would be nice to get a CM discount of merchandise. Especially when we go on DCL or ABD trips.

My hubby and i would also like to buy a retirement home in FL so i can be close to the world. We are still a bit young to retire but we are making plans. Can't wait to talk to you about it in Dec on the BSM.

Ya, if you can find a way to be seasonal, that'd be perfect. Only need to work like 150 hours a year evaluated quarterly.
