New Florida Home Owners

Just catching up with your news Jeff. Hope you and Val enjoy your new Florida home.
Jealous that you will be just a few miles from the magic :goodvibes

So excited for you both! Please keep us all updated on how the move...and everything else is going. :)

All we have to do then is get our FL license and register the cars to become "official". Oh, and maybe take advantage of some FL Resident specials from Disney. :)

Hope you have about a grand set aside. One of the downsides of no state income tax is that the money needs made someway. One of them is the wonderful $275 initial Florida license plate fee.

I'm sure your movers will be good, but shoot me a text if you need help with the move.

Wonderful news!!! I remember when your house was just a baby slab, and now look how it's grown; all ready to move in and everything.

So happy for you guys. :)

So, we are out of our Plymouth house now. The moving van left about noon today (2/28) and we are spending the night at a hotel on the way to FL.

Funny thing, there is a movie being filmed in the hotel now and one of the stars is Dustin Hoffman. We saw him briefly in the lounge.

Wow, that's some fee for the plates. And us with two cars.

I wonder if the charge for the specialty plates is even higher? I've got a ham radio plate in MA, but Val has just a regular plate.

Appreciate your offer of help Andy. We may give you a yell if we need some help. Thanks!

Hope you and Val have a fun drive.

You must be very excited. I hope you got in ok and had a good first night.

Does it seem real yet? :)

Yes, we got in just fine, thanks!

We have some furniture that we bought new coming tomorrow. Our furniture from home will arrive either wednesday or thursday.

So did you arrive in time for the fireworks? And if so did you sleep through them? ;)

Furniture from home got here on Wednesday. Can't believe how many boxes of stuff we have to unpack.

Sorry to lurk on/hijack your thread....I read the ones about people moving to the WDW area because that's what DH and I would eventually like to do (kids are teenagers, so we have some time....). But I had to chime in on Dustin Hoffman being sighted....he's filming "Boychoir" also starring Kathy Bates and Eddie Izzard. The film is loosely based on The American Boychoir out of Princeton. DS16 attended the school for 4 years.

Okay, back to your scheduled thread....

Thanks for the background! Do you know when its scheduled for release?

I don't know the schedule for release (nothing on IMDB), but they started filming on Feb. 26 in Connecticut. The American Boychoir is filming right now....they provide some of the background music and probably are "fillers" for the choir scenes. One of the current choirboys is playing the best friend of the main character, so he will have a fair amount of screen time. It was really neat to see pictures of my son's choir conductor train Dustin Hoffman on how to conduct. Pretty cool experience for these boys. :thumbsup2 Thanks for asking!
