That's exactly what I was thinking!I wonder if this means no more bonus for canceled cruises? Our is Oct 12 and I’m just hanging on to get the bonus.

Actually if DCL does cancel the current formula (100% refund or 125% FCC still applies, it just gives people who've booked like ourselves (WBPC Feb 2021) less worry and pressure about going PIF and then regretting it later if the situation doesn't change and we might want to cancel out of fear the Covid-19 problem isn't going away. I for one am happy to accept this, at least we won't be penalized if we decide to change out reservation with out DCL going to the point of cancelling. That's exactly what I was thinking!
I suspect this is, because people have parlayed a inside cruise from April into a deluxe balcony.I wonder if this means no more bonus for cancelled cruises? Our is Oct 12 and I’m just hanging on to get the bonus. Odds were they wouldn’t cancel before I would incur cancellation penalties and I don’t think we’d want to go regardless. The ability to change dates later is great, but I’m only willing to leave my money tied up if there’s a bonus offered. I worry this means that’s over.
There’s no way I let them keep my money if they aren’t giving some kind of incentive to wait and see. I’m willing to use the extension and rebook further into the future, but no discount means I cancel and wait until this all dies down before booking another cruise. They aren’t going to hold thousands of dollars for a couple of years for free. Your move, Disney.I suspect this is, because people have parlayed a inside cruise from April into a deluxe balcony.
I too was hoping for 125 but I’m a January sail date.
but it looks like that ship sailed...
i’ll see myself out.
Yes it let's you have many more weeks to consider your options, and shift your reservation with out suffering any financial penaltyThis just allows you to MOVE it without penalty at 15 days, not CANCEL?
If dcl cancels that would a different thing in my opinion. This is the customer electing a change on a cruise that is still sailingInteresting thought. I just PIF our November cruise to roll the dice and see if we don't sail, we could snag the 25%. Time will tell.
It is their way of getting people to PIF so they can hold the money. It does not seem that DCL is optimistic about cruises returning before this ends.
You are right. My daughter and I literally just had this conversation. lol In the end, we are REALLY hoping we just sail, so there is no drama with trying to get everyone's schedules together and set another cruise date!If dcl cancels that would a different thing in my opinion. Oh! I hadn’t thought of that but you’re right, it would help a lot with people playing cruise roulette hoping for a payout.I feel like they will still give out 125% for cruises that they cancel. In addition to giving people confidence in booking, this may be a way of helping to minimize those 25% bonuses.
They have to know people are playing chicken with the FCC, deposits and PIF dates. With this change, if people move their sail date out, the fare only gets moved at 100%. That leaves fewer behind to collect 125% credits if DLC is forced to cancel. They still keep the booking money and don't have to sweeten the pot to keep it.
